Well Sergio - what a day, in so many ways.
Got down to the Pyramid first thing to have a look at the stage (it was closed off on Thursday) and was delighted to see a few U2 fans already there complete with the War/360/Tricolour flag that everyone would have seen throughout the day.
Met some cool people there and as we were hanging around, a guy taking snaps approached my nephew and I saying he was from U2.com and asked to take our picture as we had our band tees on. I had my PopMart Tour tee on and my nephew, Vertigo Tour. He did so and we thought no more about it.
Spent much of the day moving around checking bands before coming back to see B.B King and when we got back into the 'pit', I checked my phone to see a barrowload of messages from friends saying that I was on U2.com. Turns out the photographers pic was used on the homepage as part of the build up to the show. Couldn't believe it!
Anyway - skip forward a few hours, a river full of rain and a great set from Morrissey (who name dropped the band a few times) and it was show time. It was very cramped at the front (2 people off the barrier) but the atmosphere was a mixture of anticipation, excitement and nervousness. What would they play?how would they play? How would it go down? I needn't have worried...
Although 'Real Thing' was slightly tentative and the sound immediately grabbed me as 'obviously not nearly as good as a 360 show', it was a thrill for me to see it as a live opener. The Fly was like waking up in 1992 as both the performance and visuals were a throwback to the glory days.
After the Achtung Baby homage (which I absolutely loved) the Streets had everyone going and seeing the non U2 fans bopping along to it was a moment to treasure - they had the entire crowd in their pockets by that point.
The rest of the set from then on was absolutely amazing. A practical 'best of' hit reel - an experience I never thought I'd be part of. Special shouts to Vertigo, Bad, a quite unforgettable WOWY and Out of Control - a most sensational ending to a 'once in a lifetime' gig.
Standing in the mud and incessant rain cuddling family and reading messages from friends all over the world confirming the boys had 'done it' will live with me forever.

For my part - OH MY FUCKING GOD. What a week. Not even the epic amounts of rain and mud could bring us down, although it tried its best! Currently sat in my friend's house in London halfway between Glasto and Norfolk, cannot stop thinking about all the amazing stuff I've been witness to over the last few days. Everything was awesome, but, obviously, the main article...U2 blew me away. To see the ZooTV homage, IWF and Out of Control in the same set, just, everything, argh. I'll try and put a more lucid review when I'm back home. Needless to say, I feel like the luckiest bastard around right now. Hope everyone enjoyed it where you all watched it from
