1. Wow that was excessive haha XD and if there are any strange words in there it was probably the auto-correct on my phone (I caught it changing achtung to scuttle baby )

Two more things: they seemed to be reminiscing quite a bit last night (they even mentioned their show at duley's (a bar in lansing) in '81) . And if anyone cares to know, bob seger was in attendance.

That must be the infamous paper where he reads the Jungleland tribute from... http://www.u2gigs.com/Jungleland-s798.html

  3. Long time ago, very long shot to remember on their own... They might have been checking U2gigs

  4. That was funny.....

Nevertheless, great review, glad you had one of the best shows in your life! I'm waiting for the bootleg as well, everyone is saying that the crowd was fantastic and I want to check that out (and the UTEOTW -> IWF thing)...

  5. Haha probably.
He said something like "where is mr. Dooley these days? We tried to find him.." after.

Funny that I knew what song was coming?

Thanks! I was afraid it was too long. I got a little carried away .And yes the crowd was great. But we always are. I don't know if you heard the vertigo tour bootlegs from the palace but the crowd was nuts then too. I haven't listened to them in a while but I especially remember the sing-a-long a the end of pride (which they should have let go on long last night) be fantastic although out of sync and after streets the crowd just erupting and Bono saying "WOW... This is Monday night in Detroit? You can change the world with a sound like that"

Gives me chills just thinking about it again

  8. No. Funny because I Will Follow and Beautiful Day are... well, played on the SAME guitar
  9. it's always a great feeling hearing reading the great excitement that a U2 show gives
very glad you got it all Andrew and thanx for sharing it

As an unbiased resident of Western New York who has been to U2 concerts in multiple places in North America and seen dvds from here I can tell you the East Lansing crowd was pretty much the best so far
  11. Really like your review Andrew. Captured alot of the same feelings that I had including I Will Follow, Walk On, and The Miss.
  12. Ok here it goes.

I got in line at 9:30am about foot short of being under nice shade tree, but oh well. Right away I made a friend from Oakland we ended talking about just about everything under the sun. Everybody in line was great and I enjoyed meeting fellow U2 freaks like me. Got hear sound check which was really cool. Waited and waited some more then the line got tighter. Ended up seeing some extremist saying we are going to hell because we are going to a rock n roll show. We should have started singing 40 as loud as possible. Then got into the stadium and got a great spot by the guy whom I befriended in line who was with his mother as well. We ended up Middle right inner circle. Florence in the Machines were pretty good. Her dress looked lovely blowing in the wind. After there set I got a bottled water from there leftovers. Couldn't get drumsticks, but a bottle water lol. Then U2 crew came out got everything ready for them. Really cool seeing the guys who help make U2 sound and look the best. Then it began, The opening notes to EBTTRT with awesome drum from Larry. A race the AB set which was an eargasm. Then IWF which got crowd really going I thought. Adam looked like he was having a blast especially during Crazy which was really cool. To be honest such a rush I remember Streets being so loud and the crowd just ate it up. So loud and the boys took note I think. Then batman was awesome with Bono swinging almost over my head. Then WOWY which again crowd devoured at the end. Then MOS really was amazing. I always liked the song but I feel in love with it right there. I'm sure there is more I am missing and my grammar is crap. Overall I think was 9/10 by the band 10/10 from the crowd. Also it was cool hearing Bono say Go Green Go White! As I am Spartan fan.

Cant wait for the Boot from this and a future thanks to whom ever recorded it.
