    You are right

    i agree with that
  2. I won't do my own top ten since most of you hit the big events already. However, I think their decision to team up with Danial Lanois (and Brian Eno, I suppose) was a big deal. That sound from The Unforgettable Fire onwards really has made U2....well, U2.

Also I'd definitely have Their slane performances on a top 10 list like this!

and i do think Pop is a momentous album for the band.. without the experimentation that led to poor sales and the poor tour by u2's standards, we wouldn't have gotten ATYCLB, HTDAAB and NLOTH, and i think things would have been very different for U2. No 10 million grammys last decade, no elevation tour and slane concerts, no 360. i am sure you could say that it could have been the opposite and made them even more successful if they had continued down that path and not tried to become the biggest, best rock band in the world again, but i know that without pop and popmart the 00s would have not turned out how they did, and that, in my opinion, is therefore a momentous occurence

  4. Good points. I suppose the argument (as you somewhat alluded to) can now be "Was the band's reaction to Pop's reception a good thing or a bad thing?"

    New thread?

True, I was there too. Very close to the stage.

    AMAZING.
  6. Surprised no one has put the Limerick Talent Show in the late 70's. That was a moment when the entire band said "we can totally do this". Read U2byU2!!!
