  1. With all the cool comps showing up on this site I was just wondering if my fellow U2 fans think a Mr. Macphisto phone call comp would be a asburd thing or not? I've heard some of the calls are downright funny.I only have 4 Zoo TV tour shows so I couldn't do it or I would just for the giggles of seeing some of the responses for such a thing. Maybe a best of sort of thing.What do all of you think? Maybe somebody here will take the idea of run with it

  5. I wonder if there is a list of everyone he called? I've used google and wikipedia to flesh out some of the names but there are a few that I'm not quite sure about.

    Such as...
    1993.07.07 Macphisto calls Betino Craxy
    1993.07.09 Macphisto calls Mayor Polazzi
    1993.07.14 Macphisto calls Monsieur Papé
    1993.07.23 Macphisto calls Jula Torgma
    1993.07.27 Macphisto calls Oafenmen
    1993.07.31 Macphisto calls Ian Buckmeister
    1993.08.21 Macphisto calls Graham Taylor
    1993.08.24 Macphisto calls Frank Murphy

    Any ideas who those people are? Or how to properly spell their names?

    If there is interest, I'll post a similar list of the ones I'm (relatively) certain about.

    His correct name is Bettino Craxi, he was the leader of the Italian Social Party, former italian Premier, died some years ago.

    He was a great man. I know some of his speeches, he was amazing.


    Regarding the Macphisto calls, I once made a compilation for a guy who asked to me, some months ago. It consisted of basically all the calls (at least most of them), from Rotterdam to Tokyo, but mixed by my to look like a single call or whatever. It must be somewhere in my Hard Disk... Don't know where though

    Bernard Tapie - Former president of football club Olympique Marseille and politician
    ???
    Uffe Ellemann-Jensen - Former Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs
    Ian Wachtmeister - ex-leader of the (right winged) New Democratic Party
    Graham Taylor - Former Manager of the english football team
    Frank Murphy - member/president (?) of the Gaelic Athletics Association (they own the stadium and banned the sale of the Achtung Baby Condoms)

    1993-05-22 Madrid - McPh calls to the biggest hotel in Madrid, asking for a bed to spend the night.
    1993-08-28 Dublin - McPh calls the UN, but an automatic response bumps in. "We're closed for lunch. If you're under genocide, please leave the name of your Country after the beep, and we'll get back you as soon as possible"
    1993-11-27 Sydney - McPh calls a taxi to take him from Sydney to Dublin.
    1993-12-10 Tokyo - McPh calls to her "friend" Madonna.
