Yeah, some Pop songs are really made for the huge Claw (unlike IALW and others xD), i hope next tour will bring some Pop cause Zoo songs already had big representation (now + Vertigo), so its time for something else

About the Bullet, i think they would have to rearrange it again, because it was quite boring during Vertigo tour... or maybe it was because of the LAPOE+SBS+BTBS trio every night, but still during Elevation it was better (Boston etc.)
  2. This was the first U2 tour my dad and I were able to go see. I have been a fan since high school but can remember being a young child and hearing Streets on the radio in my dads car. It was just incredible to see them live in Foxboro a few years ago!

I personally wish NLOTH album got treated better. The 7 songs I saw I thought were good but they should have added more of those songs into the setlist as the tour years went on. Even if the album wasn't received well most of the songs should have been played. I was so happy the band brought back UF, UV, Zooropa, Your Blue Room, Electrical Storm, Batman, and With or Without You's Shine Like Stars outro on rare occasions.

The band could alway's do a greatest hits tour and I would be happy to see them!

despite i lived it live so many times, now that you've made me think i missed it in this tour .. like Running to stand still
  4. me too, running is one of my fav tracks and bullets would have worked so well on the 360 stage set.
  5. The tour highlight for me is most definitely the 2nd Anaheim show, which was also my first U2 show and first GA experience. It was an all day ordeal that culminated in one of the best performances of the tour, in my opinion. Everything about this tour blew me away. The massive size of The Claw in contrast to the fact that many of us were close enough to give The Edge a handshake at times made this tour something completely new.
  6. Seein the band 2 times in East Rutherford was great,but my 2 shows in Montreal were my personal highlights so far.Philly and NJ 3 ARE NEXT.My best show that I attended,NJ N1,Montreal N2 (so far).Best shows...Milan 1,Dublin 3,Chicago 1,NJ 1,Switzerland 2,Brussels 1 and 2 and Montreal 2.........

The band really shocked me by playing Your Blue Room and UF in 2009.2010,the new songs were my highlights.2011.....The Achtung Baby songs of course......
  7. Seen 7 shows, this was a money grab folks, plain and simple. This was planned way before the album came out, This tour was so the future generations of the bands kids never have to work. There was no reason to do a 360 tour outside. It just did not wrk.

It was exciting but its time to move it back into arena's.

  8. Great, great tour. So many upsides in my opinion. The revival of so much classic material (Ultra Violet, Unforgettable Fire, Scarlet, lord knows what else), breaking out stuff that had never been played before, the Claw, finally appearing at Glastonbury; just a handful of good things we could point to. From my own point of view, finally getting the chance to see the guys live was unbelievable, and to see them 3 times too, I can't express how much it meant to me. Don't know where one can place it, but it probably has been their finest tour since ZooTV, although the other three were hardly failures.

Certainly, there were downsides - the lack of faith in the NLOTH material (whether you liked it or not) was sad, and also as many have said, a distinct lack of Pop stuff yet again was a shame, and WGRYWH didn't turn up! Definitely a failure in my book

Overall though, negatives have been far outweighed by the positives a great time for U2 fans in my opinion.

That is absolutely ridiculous. I don't even know why I bother to respond to such an asinine comment other than to point out its absurdity.
  10. I would have to rank this tour third behind ZooTV and Elevation. The claw was amazing and the opportunity to get up close like I did in Oakland was amazing. They surprised us over three years with Zooropa, Unforgettable Fire, Your Blue Room, MJ snippets, Scarlet, One Tree Hill, All I Want is You, and my favorite Out of Control. I agree with most that this stage was made for POP songs and it is too bad they didn't pull the trigger.

I especially love The beginning of 2009 in Europe it was just so exciting, 2010 in Europe with unreleased songs and this final leg where they have really nailed a great setlist that works. EBTTRT is a terrific opener. Oakland would have been perfect if they dropped Pride and played Bad or Out of Control, but we did get Larry singing Perfect Day!

I think we look back on this tour and really appreciate what we got from them. I remember during the Elevation tour discovering recordings from POPMART and how great some of those shows were. The Internet has changed our expectations and opportunity to be surprised, but each leg they have tweaked it to make it better.

I would love to see them release a DVD compilation that captures all of the highlights over the three years.

  12. I'm actually REALLY happy in a weird way that they postponed the US leg, I was at Anaheim 2 and that set-list is just to die for <3 if somebody had told shown me night 1 or 2 of 2010 or 2011 in 09 when I got the tickets I'd go with 010 potentially for the new songs but 2011 has soo many amazing 90's songs <333 loveeeeee Zooropa, Even Better, The Fly, and UV all in the same show.
