1. I know, this post is not the best contribution I've ever made to this board, but I just watched his speech from Philly for the first time and I was asking myself:

Anyone else had to vomit while watching it?
    What has happened?
    What would say?

I often like his speeches (mostly concerning War), but most of them (mostly concerning Africa and USA) are boring and vomitive.
  8. British Knighthood, Spice Girls, *** speeches...

Damn i miss the Rock'n Roll Bono
  9. I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that I quite liked that speech....

Whilst I'm the first to agree that bringing so much into the Vertigo tour, with the pre-One speech especially, became repetitive and felt slightly out of place (not to mention breaking the flow of the show); I am,on the whole, proud to be a fan of a man who uses his ludicrous wealth and celebrity for these causes.

His humour stilts sometimes and he re-uses the same lines a little too often, but who wouldn't in the same position. I know I couldn't.

And as a fan of the band I would rather Bono did this than act like an over-aged leather-skinned prat, achieving nothing, like certain other vintage rockstar Knights of the Realm.

He still rocks out when he's with the band, on album or on stage (98% of the time ), so who are we to complain what he does at other times (and I'm sure these bits and pieces will not delay the album. We always have a 4 year wait nowadays). It just gives the other 3, who ultimately write the actual music, more time to finetune.

    Just my 2 cents...
