1. So, they have hundreds of songs to choose from and play this piece of shit? Somehow symbolic...
  2. Stuck In A Moment? WTF.
  3. for american audience .. kidding
  4. "Stuck" is probably an easy one for them to pull off in such a setting. Although it would have been cool if that round, UV mic came down from the rafters.
  5. so is stay, staring at the sun, north star, all i want is you
  6. +1. They've got plenty of better songs to pull out in an acoustic set, starting from the obvious One which Bono himself said is a versatile song which can be (easily) played at almost any ocassion... And man, if you're going to talk about Africa after the song you play, don't be so cynical to play Stuck In A Moment...
  7. I haven't seen the interview (yet), but I saw them performing Stuck on You Tube. Love it Always a good choice to sing with Edge on accoustic guitar. It's a song that's obviously dear to them, no matter what some people say. It may not fit that well into the 360 stadium setting, but it's a good way for Bono to show what he is (still) able to achieve vocally.

I cannot wait to see the whole interview. Given the current crisis, I am not surprised Bono is asked and talks about Africa. It's an important issue for him.

And does anyone else think that there's something wrong with Bono's right leg? He keeps it stretched out for most of the interview. Some other people have noticed that, too. Makes you wonder, and maybe a little worried, because it's the leg he has had problems with before his surgery. Maybe it's just the sitting, I haven't noticed anything strange when he's walking or performing.
  8. "Stuck" is obviously a deeply personal song for Bono (and the rest of the guys too) due to its connection with Michael Hutchence. Sure, there are "better" songs out there they could have played, but it is a unique song lyrically (the conversational format), which is what Letterman was asking about in the first place--songwriting.
I think it's sort of lame/tired to just pass this song off as shit (obviously it's all opinion anyway)...but I think we should just get over it. It means a lot to Bono and I think he sort of needs to sing it every now and then because maybe he felt he should've done something to help his friend before he committed suicide. Since the song is written as an "argument between friends," it might still serve as a way for Bono to deal with his grief/guilt/depression/etc. Also, as someone pointed out half-jokingly, the song was/is a hit in the US and casual music fans know and like it, so hey, why the hell not? Of course, I'd like to hear it in full band form again, but I'm not gonna nitpick

(As I've said before, I'm just glad my favorite band is still together and performing...I'm not gonna be a douchebag and bitch about one song they chose to play on David Letterman in between 360 shows. Please.)
  9. As Stuck performances go, pretty darn good I say.
  10. Then I'm the weird guy... it doesn't sound great to me. At all. Bono should have stood up to be able to sing it well, and Edge messes up a few chords here and there. Not a stand-out performance, even for the Stuck standards.

It's the rawness that makes it. Bono rarely gets that much into a song. I credit that more than the noise that comes out of his mouth.
