1. It's awesome. I love GarageBand, already had so much fun with it.
  2. It's so much fun trying samples and all that stuff. How do you record, do you need a microphone or can you just hook up some speakers and record that way?
  3. I have a condensator microphone, audio interface and stuff. But you can of course record with a built in mic if you have one...

Oh, and a tip, Mac computers and Mac applications usually have very good "Help"
  4. So I just bought a Philips microphone, that should work?
  5. If it doesn't need phantom power (condensator mics does), you should be able to just plug it in I think.
  6. What microphone is it?
  7. Some basic-looking Philips one. I assume it works via line in or something.
  8. I'd guess so, maybe you'll need one of these:
  9. I got it home, plugged it into the back of the computer and no go - I'll try it on my laptop. I can't see the image of what it is you've got up there.

  10. Edit: His is working now.

Did you go to system settings and pick the microphone for audio in?

How did you try to use it? In GarageBand? If so, try to see if it works if you add an instrument with the plus sign in the low left corner, then choose "Real Instrument", then on "My instrument is connected with" choose "Built in ******** (whatever the program may call this in English, everything here is my translations). Then choose Mono if you want to be in both channels.
