  1. Biggest tour ever?

    This was certainly special. Somehow, it's unlike anything U2 has ever done. It was closer to the fans that any arena tour, yet bigger than any other tour by any band.

    One can complain about NLOTH not having been played to its full extent. One could certainly complain about Pop not having been played. I won't, this tour was greater than great as it was already.
  3. I was telling myself this morning that doing a compilation of the tour won't be easy, seeing how much the setlist has changed for two years. I'll have to work on it, but I think it will be a tough one.

    It'll have to be about 40 to 45 songs (so at least 3 discs).

    I made a 2011-only compilation and I just squeezed it onto two CD's.

    Yes indeed, difficult to do less than that. The easiest, and maybe the most logical, might be to do three parts. It would be possible to do two parts too, like two shows, something like :

    - 2009-2010 : Highlighting NLOTH + new songs
    - 2010-2011 : Highlighting the older songs they brought back, especially the 90s.
  7. Awesome tour.
    Highlights for me. Montreal 2, may be the best tour of the show. Bono was on fire and best pro-recorded setlist of the tour.
    Milan 2, this goes to the crowd. The Italians certainly know how to rock.
    Dublin 2, My first U2 show, and a night I'll never forget. i still maintain that Bono gave one of the top three vocal performances of the tour that night. The power of Larry Mullen's drums when he opened with breathe, it was like been hit by some sort of energy shockwave that had hitched a ride on the back of a 747.

    I don't get it...they had similar stages with the catwalk stuff on Vertigo and Elevation. How were they closer now? The only difference is that the rest of the audience was in a stadium setting, thus far away to the stage like with any other stage. It's not as if the catwalk made such a big circle to really get closer to the stands.
