I would love that kind of speed, I'm happy when my speed goes over 750kbit/s.

6 Mbits ~= 600 KB/s

there are 8 bits in 1 Byte, overhead makes that around 10.

I'm stupid... always thought uTorrent showed speed in bits (and if that would've been the case, it was only a tenth of my speed) and not bytes.

That clears it all up

Well it would be easier if it werent case sensitive. But thats how it works, even m is not same as M (milli vs Mega). Problem is mainly that the providers are using the confusion to promote their speeds.
