sorry to break the spell, but after listening to Bad from the Youtube-clip, i don't know, the song had so much more power before. also songs like City Of Blindng Lights and The Unforgettable Fire. this tour has taken away the magic in some of my personal favourite live songs. i mean, what the heck was that tambourin in the refrain to TUF??? it sounded like an easy pop song or something?!?!
it's almost like Bono has entered his Fat Elvis period. the setlists being so identical night after night after.... the motion and intros too. i don't know. it's just my personal opinion as this tour comes to a close.
Just want to say that this show last night was phenomenal. My 7th show of the tour, and the band was red hot, start to finish. For me, the weakest part of every show that I've seen has been the 1-2-3 punch of Crazy Tonight / SBS / and Walk On. I thought that even Walk On was strong. It finished so well with the "All that you fashion..." bit. Still not as strong as the Elevation versions though.
Anyway, that aside, the show was lights out. They were in top form. Even Better Than the Real thing was so much more intense than in Philly. Bono even acknowledged the crowd's intensity before jumping into The Fly. Until The End of the World gets better every time I hear it. Edge had some problems with his guitar before it finished, but he quickly swiped out for another. Very smooth. Vertigo was great with the "two hearts" snippet. Loved that throwback. I could go on and on and on and on... But of course, when they jumped in to Bad, I almost passed out. I couldn't believe that Bono was hitting "Wide Awaaaaake!" so strongly at that point in the show. Unbelievable.
My first time hearing The Fly and Bad. I missed hearing The Fly in Philly. I was bummed. But we got it in the city of champions.
What an awesome way to finish my tour experience with U2. So blown away....
It's been a couple weeks and I haven't seen a recording pop up yet - anyone happen to know if it was recorded? I saw a bootleg cover image for it, so there's some hope that it's around somewhere.
Better question. What's the best place to be looking for one aside from here?
Not directed to you, but maybe to those who keep requesting 360 recordings:
For example the usual torrent site where most recordings here are downgraded from are the best place to look.
But seriously: How many times did any of you witness that a 360 recording popped up because someone requested it? It's not like someone is sitting on it not knowing that other people want it. It may or may not be shared.
Requesting recent recordings over and over again doesn't help one bit. Visit the taper's sites, go and record something he/she might want, try to trade for another recording, etc.... or even better:
If you wanna make sure that a gig is recorded, do it BEFORE the gig. It's not that hard to work something out.
All this whining from the non-taping guys is really boring.
