1. I like them on rare occasions, U2's are often good.

Most remixes are just making a crappy song crappier.
  2. Some of the ones from the late '80's (Desire) and 90's (Horses) were good/interesting. I don't need remixes of songs like New York or All Because of You, however.
  3. To me remixes sound like somone sitting at a computer having fun with a music program. I'd rather listen to what the band wrote.
  4. Lemon perfecto mix was great in that situation during Popmart
  5. I can't believe that the rerelease wouldn't be remastered - it makes absolutely no sense, i'm hoping that's not true - though the signs don't look good.

How can go through the effort to remaster October but can't do the same for AB, especially when they're charging up to $600+ for it.

  6. Universal Germany says Achtung comes remastered.

  7. Seems like it would be remastered, all the others have been so why wouldn't Achtung and Zooropa?

  8. There are some real good U2 remixes out there in my opinion, can see your point though, after all, we had 'Sad Bastards'

    Hi Nick

    Thanks for your message.

We can confirm that both albums are the original not re-mastered versions.

    Kind Regards

on the universal store for Nevermind it's said explicitly "remastered version" while for Achtung "6 CDs including the original Achtung Baby album, the follow-up album, Zooropa.."
  10. Perhaps it's only the demos and Salome stuff that's being remastered?
  11. i hope they don't take the Hansa bootlegs and release them as they are hehe
this is what's said about the other cds on universal store
B-sides and re-workings of previously unheard material recorded during the Achtung Baby sessions

No doubt the albums won't be remastered.
I'd be very curious to know what everyone would expect from a remastered Achtung Baby. What is the problem with the original release? I think any audio engineer would be flabbergasted if he was given the job and wouldn't know what to do.
