  5. words can't explain how much i'm looking forward to this release!! i just get the feeling after hearing some of their (well, MOST) songs that are going to be on the album in the festivals that this is going to be one EPIC album!! And next single paradise, they've done well to keep that one under wraps. No word of it from any Coldplay sites i've been on. I would have thought they would have played it during the festivals to try and gauge it's response by the audience but this seems very promising!! These boys have already given me (imo) 4 masterpieces but they've said they are going down a different direction and i just love alternative or different music... tracks like hurts like heaven, charlie brown and us against the world are all just WOW!! can't wait!!!

    you know what I've noticed, Coldplay's setlists have been "copying" U2's setlists. Recently both bands have opened concerts with an unreleased song (Stingray/Hurts Like Heaven). Both have been playing their "love song" early in the set (AIWIY/Scientist). And also both have used one of their best show closers to close the main set (Walk On/Life Is For Living).

    Just my observation...
  7. LOL I don't think Coldplay planned out their setlist based on what U2 do, I think it just makes sense to have a setlist like that for them

  9. This is what artists do though when they're going to release an album. They promote the material they've worked on for their fans, it goes on the shelves, and the fans buy the work. With U2, they decided to abandon ship (with one exception) with the stuff they "worked on". That exception being BFFT/Spiderman.

    As for Coldplay's sets, it's based entirely on how the songs flow into one another. Also, isn't Yellow a love song (which was played 2nd in the set on their festival tour)? Or, on a larger scale, how many songs by either band could be interpreted as a love song?

    As for show closers, if you played in a band, wouldn't you want to close your main set with a really good song?

  10. I'm not saying Coldplay is copying U2. I'm just saying that their setlists look really similar...

    I always thought Yellow was a parent speaking to a child. But maybe it's a love song.
  12. yeah i always thought Yellow was a companion of Shiver, thematically/lyrically, just happier.
