I'd be very curious to know what everyone would expect from a remastered Achtung Baby. What is the problem with the original release? I think any audio engineer would be flabbergasted if he was given the job and wouldn't know what to do.

I kind of agree with this.
  2. There was little, if any, need to rework the album. It was all about packaging the original 12 songs together with some b-sides, rarities, remixes, and SOME DECENT LIVE TRACKS THAT THEY FORGOT TO INCLUDE WITH THIS REISSUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Sorry.

    I <3 YOU
yes i need loads of bsides, live tracks, rarities and stuff from the basement too. but that's another discussion
  5. I'm obviously ok with the petition for b-sides, rarities and demos, but... Why live tracks? We already have all of them in high quality bootlegs, we only lack a good recording of So Cruel but I doubt they would have included that anyway. For the rest of them (except Acrobat of course), we have loads of great quality recordings...
  6. yeah yourre right, lets get twenty cds of remixes, so we can be happy about very interesting music we dindn't heard before!
  7. I'm so bored with remixes. I think there are like 2 I ever listen to out of the hundreds I have. I really don't understand who they're marketing them to. Dance-clubs? Really?
  8. About the remastered or not-remastered issue; I remember reading somewhere quite some time ago, that U2 would bring out remasters of every album up to AB. AB was the first U2 album that was recorded fully digitally, and there's no use in remastering something that's already digital. They could do a "remix", i.e. bringing up the bass a bit or someting like that, but that doesn't count as a remaster.
  9. u2tour.de asked universal whether the albums are remastered or not. response (and I quote):

"As far as we know, they are remasted"

    Really professional answer.

Very true. I like the pretty packaging of the stuff.

Noiseless will (has) save(d) me with the audio.
