Yep. I completely agree. I listened to all of NLOTH the other day and really enjoyed it. Even songs I didn't really like when it first came out (Unknown Caller, Fez) I really enjoyed. It seems like every one of their albums can do that to me.

how lucky r we, to be fans of the best band in the world

  3. Very, very lucky. Can't imagine a band meaning as much to me as they do

  4. No, he's NOT saying that. You can like whatever you want to like (and dislike) but don't dislike a song because it's too mainstream nor like a song just because is was written/performed by U2. Like what you want and accept that others will have different tastes.

I like a tonne of the hits and find it difficult to compare them with the non-hits. For this reason, I made two lists. Throw in live versions of songs and it gets even more difficult to rank them.

Mood definitely plays a factor - an U2 has a song for each mood. If I am trying to relax, "Vertigo" isn't the best choice but if I am trying to energize myself, I prefer not to listen to "So Cruel."
  6. LEMON!

    An Cat Dubh/Into the Heart

    Bad

    The Unforgettable Fire

    FAST CARS

Get On Yer Boots... (I sang this @Kareoke last Christmas time. And I blewwww em away)!

She's a Mystery to me - Roy Orbison

    and many more.

The Million Dollar Hotel still remains Deep In my Heart.

    Salome

    HGRYWH

I love all the B sides cos they're not overplayed

    I love all the Re-mixes
not that I've heard as many as I would like to. xxx
  7. I think FAST CARS is one of the sexiest U2 songs.

It makes me dance and dance
and then I just have to play it again and dance...
    .. some more

    And sing of course.

    LOVE IT. TRULY! xxx
  8. At first I thought: "Deciding on the best U2 song is virtually impossible."

    Then I thought: "Streets."

  9. I don't know. It is amazing, and definitely within the top twenty of the band, but I've never quite been able to deem it just as good as I know many of you do. :/

Which is your favorite version (feel free to name a few if you find it hard to choose )?
  10. Nope, sorry, it goes Streets - Bad - One - Stay, THEN we can talk

    Favorite version of each
Streets - probably Rattle and Hum DVD, Sydney or Boston, I like a lot of 360 versions with the "love, love, love" too. But I really can't decide. It's best year was 1987 though.
Bad - Live Aid 1985, 12 mins long. My dream is that U2 will mirror that performance on their final show.
    One - Sydney
    Stay - Dublin 1993, Sydney

East Rutherford 86, Self Aid, Dublin radio 93 and New York 2001 SBD comes to mind.
