  1. Today's album is Saves The Day - Daybreak. This is kind of a qualified recommendation; it's the kind of thing I need to be in the right mood for and this album is a little inconsistent. But when it works it's great. These guys have been around for a while now, but if you've not heard them before they're for fans of noisy indie/punk/rock in the vein of Green Day, The Living End etc.

  2. Today's album is Liam Finn's 'Fomo'. Liam, as some of you would know, is the son of Crowded House's Neil Finn and sounds so much like him at times it's uncanny. I've seen Liam play live and didn't get the same vibe as this album at all. Liam's a ferociously talented guy; plays multiple instruments (sometimes at the same time!) . I'd really thought he was going in a completely different musical direction than his dad and uncle, but this album sounds so much like Split Enz and early Crowded House, not just vocally but musically too.

    Which is not a criticism, I love the sound and this album is lovely.

    Key tracks to download: Neurotic World, Cold Feet, The Struggle.
  4. Kasabian's new album Velociraptor has leaked, on the 3rd song right now. so far so good, sounding a bit different to their other stuff.

  7. Listened a few times now and its amazing!! especially if you like indie/alternative music

    Glad you liked. That single has been #1 on the Australian charts for weeks now.

    Honestly, it's all good. Hard to go wrong with The Swell Season.


  10. I can't believe I haven't recced this album yet (in fact I was positive I had). St Vincent, 'Strange Mercy.' It's awesomely cool, full of funky guitar effects, fuzzed out sounds, distortion and a little dystopia. It's probably a little weird and dark to be broadly popular, but it hit the spot for me.

    Key tracks: Chloe in the Afternoon, Strange Mercy, Neutered Fruit & Cruel.

    and what about The Frames?

  12. The second CD features 10 instrumental tracks by Guetta. The Alphabeat is on that second disc and is my favorite
