Does Lyon play defensive?

It depends. The last three years they did, the former coach made the team played very defensive in my opinion.

Since the beginning of this season, they play more offensive. (Lyon has always conceded one goal a match this season).

I read on the official Lyon forums people following Ajax saying they play offensive as well. The only negative point is that Lisandro won't be there, it would have been spectacular.

By the way, we really played badly yesterday, against a little team, even if Lyon always plays pretty bad before or just after CL games.

Ajax plays a bit to offensive sometimes, in the 5 matches in this season we considered 7 goals so thats way to much and Ajax also played a very average match yesterday. We''ll see, at least I'm happy we play against a nice club as Lyon and not against awful teams as Moscow or something from East-Europe.

Ajax used their money in a good way this summer. Other clubs are already spilling points, like FC Twente against Roda JC (2-1) and PSV against Venlo (3-3). Ajax had a tough play against Heracles Almelo, but won (3-2).

It will certainly be an attractive match.
