It has the same feel of a couple of songs on Rush of Blood - names escape me though - with that swaying chord progression, and I like that, but it feels like it's that era of Coldplay being reworked by a male Rihanna. Not that I think that's an innately bad thing, but of the new stuff I've heard, it's far from the best. Charlie Brown certainly leaves Paradise choking far behind in its wake. Someone on Coldplaying.com said it was a song designed for radio-play, but they didn't listen to the radio for a reason, and I think I'm somewhere in that as a non-radio listener.

Curious you say this, I was going to post this, seen on coldplaying.com :

  2. mmm - I'm not really impressed, but I surmise it's going to go down pretty well on the radio

Meanwhile, I'm currently about to purchase Paradise.
  6. Hmm, dont really like the song.

The first 2:20 minutes are very boring imo, after that it gets better but I'm not really fond of it. Hopefully it will grow on me
  7. A guy a follow on twitter (he runs a sports blog) described the song like this on twitter this morning:

The new Coldplay song is Chris Martin parachuting into a Kanye reject track. SPOILER: he doesn't open his chute in time.

I thought that was hilarious. Anyway, I think the new song is ok. I'd like to hear it in the context of the new album before I really decide how I feel about it.
  8. Did you also smile at the "Every tear's a waterfall" verse at 2:02? ... ;-)

I like it more than I thought from that 30 sec review. Not my favorite track but it might/will grow. Good song. Not sure about its single quality though
  9. Not too keen on the single. Bits of it sound like dubstep. Lyrics seem a tad poor to me as well. Might be a grower though.
  10. I don't really like it, mainly the cheesy lyrics BUT i really think the musicianship and the awesome dubstep influences sound good I know i'll love it live

Good song. Not sure about its single quality though

My thoughts EXACTLY. Charlie Brown shouldve been the move here. The album wouldve been massively promoted then, probably wouldve had the number one single too. Its already the number one album on iTunes after a day of pre orders though.
