  1. I've always wanted to get one of these shows, post 9/11 from New York....I see one is four stars, the other is five. Anyone out there listened to both and can offer any insight into which is better? (crowd, performance, audio quality, setlist, etc.) Much appreciated!

    the 24th wins on all counts for me apart from audio quality (but thats a matter of preference). The 25th's audio is stunning, a soundboard mixed with audience to get rid of that isolated feeling (serious lack of bass though)

    The crowd on the first night are as passionate as you'l hear and the band are on great form. Definatley the more historic of the shows since its the first in New York since in 9/11. Not a lot of setlist differention. Out Of Control on the first night is great or there is Stay on the second night.

    My choice is the 24th but your decision lies with whether you like ex-audience recordings or soundboards. Get both shows in due course though.

  3. I haven't listened to the 24th but the 25th is an absolute must have bootleg, in both the context of the Elevation Tour and U2 bootlegs in general.

  5. I'm with Germcevoy. 24th is way better as a show, but the sound on 25th is... Wow!
  6. I listened to both the shows, and I love them both.

    The main difference is that germcevoy and LikeASong underlined: the show of 25th has a better sound, but from an emotional point of view that of 24th is better.
    Personally I give them both a very similar rating, being them so complementary. Nevetheless I have to say the first half of the show of the 24th isn't so excellent about the performance. Though the second half is so excellent that the whole show goes directly among their best ones.

    some shows that are soundboards do deserve the praise (RDS etc) but many of them aren't as good as some lesser shows. Syracuse 87 better then Madrid 87? I think not. South Bend better than the 1st Slane show? I think not etc etc

    ...and I'd add 1987-11-07 Denver, Colorado - McNichols Sports Arena. Digitally remastered soundboard, but can you hear the audience now?

    I disagree there. The audience mis much more listenable in Denver 100-07 than in Los Angeles 1987-11-18 or Washington 1992-08-16, which are two bootlegs rated frecuently as 10/10. For me (and I use to dislike soundobards/IEMs/ALDs because of their cold), Denver 87 is a Great recording.
