  3. R.E.M. must be the band with more compilations, greatest hits and best ofs of the rock history.

I will get this one as well, just for completism, because the tracklist&album art are amazing, and of course for the new songs.
  4. i'm a little bit annoyed that they have ready one greatest hits out one minute after they announced their split
oh if they had been U2 in doing this who knows how many shit they and Big Paul would have received
  5. no Daysleeper? bad form.

I believe I'm right in saying they were compiling this and then decided to quit, rather than the other way round. This seems the most complete 'Best Of' they've released.
  7. i want to believe the same (i have a great opinion of them as it can be seen in my previous post) but the timing is suspect and makes me turn up the nose
strike the iron while it's still hot (as we say here)
    market laws anyway

They've technically NEVER done a best of that encapsulates everything. first it was the IRS, (1980 - 1990?) then the Warner Brothers (1991-2003)? but yeah it's missing, Drive, E - Bow the Letter, and Discoverer
  9. any one know where to find there final show

There was no such thing as a "farewell" tour or concert, I hope you know that. Apart from that, their last show happened in Mexico some time ago and you can find some songs in pro-shot quality here:
