1. Did someone say "2011 version of So Cruel!?"

  2. from what i remember it wasn't a full version and it wasn't very fleshed out...
  3. Yeah, it was a little segment of Edge re-teaching Bono the chords for the chorus, and singing overtop of it.

Thinking about it now, a few hours later, I really enjoyed it. It essentially summed up the whole transition, and really proved that no other and has reinvented themselves like that ever, it's just crazy seeing it laid out like that, with all of that unseen footage and audio, really amazing.

My only criticism is that they didn't show enough "making of" of any other songs. I thought for sure they would've mentioned Lady With The Spinning Head and how it spawned three songs out of that one, and other things of that nature. Maybe how songs like Tryin' To Throw Your Arms, or even Acrobat came together. It was cool seeing Larry trying to write the Zoo Station drum part (It sounded like it anyway) at that one part.

But I guess that'd be more of a classic album type thing (showing how each song came to fruition). This movie was more about how the band made the change that they did, and how Achtung Baby really spawned out of the inner conflicts, out of the song One, and how The Fly character came out of the song The Fly, and other things like that. It did an amazing job of what it was made for, I'll give it that.

It was really cool seeing a few performances of those songs too. Makes me wish they would've played them at Glastonbury. Those versions of Wild Horses, So Cruel, and Love Is Blindness. Those parts were really awesome.

But I think for whoever watched the movie around here, their favourite part had to be when they showed how One came about. That part was just magic. We've all read and heard about it millions of times, being huge U2 fans, but to actually see how it was done, and to hear the beginnings of the song, was really something else. Really great, can't wait to see it again.
  4. Just finished watching it.
It's probably one of the best documentaries I've ever seen, not only because it's U2, but also because it was so informative regarding the dynamics of the band and how that affects the song-writing process.

Also, as many of you guys mentioned, the moment when the chords of One emerged sent chills down my spine. More about each specific song would have been nice, but not really as appropriate due to the fact that this wasn't an "Achtung Baby - The Makings Of" documentary. All in all, a great documentary and I will definitely recommend it to U2 and music fans in general.
  5. ok ok... 'nuff said, somebody upload the doc for everyone to see!!!
  6. i know, but c'mon, it's not that they'll get bankrupt if the doc becomes available before the official release, i mean, if it's already shown on TV, most people who're into U2 have already watched it in those countries.
  7. I'd wait for a stream. That'd be legal (at least here in Sweden).

And BTW, i'm pretty sure someone said you could watch it on the BBC website

    "Not available in your area"
  9. Terrible question : should I watch it now or wait for the AB remaster to come out?
  10. I wasnt really blown away as some of you were, to much Bono for me. Not enough music and I think its a shame that there wasnt any attention to two of the best songs on the album(Acrobat and Ultraviolet)
