1. Perhaps Princess Of China was written and one of them said "This does'nt sound like one of our songs, let's get someone in here who it'll mesh with"

Or maybe they wrote it FOR Rihanna or for a female singer to feature on.

Production will probably be worse in the final stuff.

  3. It isn't going to sound massively different, so the criticism should not be held off. It will sound very similar.

    Thanks for proving my point.

Chris said something along that lines. Can't remember or find the exact quote, but I'll made it up as good as I can: "So we've got that tune, Princess Of China, and it was obvious that it was made to be a duet. I had always wanted to do a duet, bla bla, so I just asked Rihanna if she'd show up and bla bla"

    Welcome, sweetheart

Seriously: I don't care if this is a promo album leaked, or the final album, or a fake, or a demo, or whatever. Whatever it is, we can praise or criticise it, can't we? When the final product arrives -different or not- we will praise or criticise the final product

blabla = 'I didn't dare to ask her, but once she was singing I was like WOW.'
  8. I remixed Hurts Like Heaven using the iTunes equalizer and saved my preset/made it the default for the song. Don't mean to be cocky but it has improved the song 1000% for me. Brought out the low end while at the same time brightening up some of the highs in Martin's acoustic. Sounds like a very fresh, crisp version instead of the mix that was on the rip I downloaded.
  9. Does anyone have any other examples of the songs crossing paths on MX? So far, I've recognized:

"Every tear, a waterfall" -Line in "Paradise"
"It's just us against the world" -Line in Major Minus

It'd be cool if this was subtly all over, weaving the album through itself.
  10. Hmm, on first listen, I think its decent - but definitely not as good as VLV - primary criticism is that it's too overproduced. Chris Martins vocals sound worse too, the treatments don't help either, his lyrics also seem excessively syrupy and childish.

The best songs seem to be the stuff we've already heard - and Hurts Like Heaven is much better live than the overdone album track.
  11. Up in Flames is fantastic, upon further listens

It sounds a LOT like something John Mayer would write, doesn't it? Everything about it. The chorus vocals, the guitar that comes in during a later chorus, sounds like JM co-wrote it or something, I doubt it, but it sounds like it.
