    That's why I thought it could be the same Epi. They're pretty similar, specially when you look at them through a small pixelated window in your computer screen...

    I wouldn't blame you at all if you thought it was an Epiphone.

I'm pretty sure Edge uses it at all time, and if not, than for the big anthem songs (as you said, the signature delay sound).     I use the M13 as well, and what I tend to use for Edge's tone, is the Blue Comp set to really really low (the compression low, the volume way up) and a tiny bit of "Screamer" as well. That's all it takes in my opinion, plus a mod delay setting (I can never get it to sound perfect on the m13).


    A lot of guys swear by the boost/comp on the M13 too, but I think it sounds too farty. I'm sure others can chime in here as well, but yeah. All you need is some compression, and a bit of boost, and a mod delay, and you're there.

    EDIT: I'm sure you already know this, but you CAN'T get Edge's tone without the herdim guitar picks.


    Yeah, i'm not really so hellbent on emulating the Edge's tone to justify paying $300 for a SD3000 preamp pedal.

    Your tones sound pretty damn good, so maybe i'll play around with the Blue Comp on the M13 and see if that helps.

    And yes, I do use the Herdims - though I wonder if Edge uses them (with the dimpled edge striking the strings) for everything he does ? As playing chords with the dimpled edge tends to sound a bit too scratchy.

    When did he start using them- from the beginning with 11 O Clock Tick Tock & Boy?

    Thanks! Go for it, once you get the basics down it's all about tinkering to get closer and closer.

    Not sure if Edge uses them for everything, I think maybe he uses more worn ones for certain songs, such as Until The End Of The World. Have you tried playing that main riff with a new herdim? It falls out of my fingers almost every time! Not to mention the individual notes he plays in the verses don't sound as sparkly and crisp as say the ones in Streets do.

    He used them early, you can definitely hear that sound in some of the earliest recordings. I've always wondered what gave him the idea to use them like that.

    1962 Epiphone Casino was used for "Breathe" and "No Line On The Horizon" during the 360 tour.

    After the 2009 dates, both tunes were dropped and the Casino didn't appear any more on the tour.

    The humbucker pickups were the giveaway, to me that it wasn't a Casino.

    Although, I was originally not sure if it was a Gibson or other Epiphone model, until watching the video a few times and checking pictures (the few out there)

    I could tell by the sound it sounds soo thin and frail to me imo i don't like that guitar at all. The Les Paul or a PROPER Casino for One pleaseee
