    Timo, things are slow on the forum. Tour is over, not many people are reading everything

    Which source did you use for Zurich? Sounds like there is some distortion in it.
  3. My programs told me everything is ok, no distortions, no clipping etc. I also can't hear any distortions with my headphones. But I'm not the youngest man, maybe I'm getting old. The sources is GVATaper. Chicago is Prof_Peabody.

  5. Maybe you have the better (younger) ears. I had to use a Multiband-Compressor to make Edge and Larry much louder. But alwas with monitoring by my programs.
  6. I have to say many, many thanks to my friend from Hannover. He gave me lots of hints to improve audience-bootlegs during the last days. He told me I've found "One way" to improve the sound quality ( remove noise) but the way with the alwas better result is "Multiband-Compressing" to remove all bass tones which are unnecessary. This always will make the "real bass" free and boost other things like drums and guitars very much. But this only works with audience-bootlegs because of the background noise there.
  7. What specifically are you doing when you say "remove noise"? When somebody says that, I typically think noise or hum reduction.

    Be careful on a multiband compressor...don't go overboard with it.

    I don't know how to say this in english with the noise removing, so here is a picture from Adobe-Audition: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/249/noisef.jpg/

    This will boost the sound extremly and the multiband compressor will remove superfluous bass sounds to let the real bass free, this will also boost all other instruments and...the voice then.

    With the multiband compressor you are right. But my friend did explain it me very good, I think.

    By the way I also did this with your Denver wireless-matrix. The only thing I didn't use here was the multiband-compressor. But now the sound is really sick! We have heard it yesterday in my garden.

  10. Ah. So what noise are you actually removing? Seems like you're just using it as a broadband eq. What specifically do you mean by superfluous bass? The only thing I can think of from your words is the subsonic rumble (below 40hz) which is often smart to roll-off.

    I guess I'm struggling to see what your idea of "noise" actually is. Glad to hear you're enjoying my Denver mix.

    I don't know how to describe it. Maybe the word "noise" is wrong. My english you know. Maybe the better word is "background-noisiness". I don't know. Do you want more pictures?
  12. No...no pictures necessary. I just don't think you're using the right plug-in for improving the sound of these recordings. Noise reduction is designed more for a constant hiss/noise/hum/etc, which would make sense if you were dealing with a wireless source. But an audience source won't have any of that unless there's something wrong with the rig.
