1. Hey Aidan .. i'm glad we weren't wrong but i think none of us had any doubt about it.
the only way to fully understand what experience is PJ live is to be in a venue where they're playing .. rhetorical words maybe but nothing but the truth.
hope this will be first of a list for you
thank you for sharing the vid
that song with that arpeggios and that voice goes straight to the heart much more with your assumptions i guess

    good shot man
  2. Seeing them live really is something. I don't mean to sound like I am "dissing" U2 (they'll always be #1 to me - just not so much these days) but just watching those five (plus one) guys just play without all the props and gadgets makes you remember what a rock concert should be all about - the music.
  3. Well, I did it!

Below is a mediafire link to my "Best of Italia 2006."

I hope it works and sounds okay - and there's no legal issues with it. I have no intention of making any money off this - I just wanted to share.

    A few things:

    1. I initially made it for me so it has my personal favourites. I am not a huge fan of "Avocado" (I don;t hate it, just don't love it). For this reason, there are only four songs from that album on it, which may be a bit low.

    2. There aren't any Binaural or Riot Act songs on the two discs. I am saving them for the 2000 and 2003 compilations that I will be making soon. In fact, I will upload my Mexico 2003 mix within a couple of days.

    3. These Italy 2006 and Mexico 2003 mixes were meant to be sort of companion pieces. What I mean is that although the "war horses" (e.g., Alive, Daughter, Corduroy, etc.) are repeated in the two compilations, I was only able to fit some great songs on only one of them - often because they weren't played at just one of the series of shows or I simply I just didn't have room for them.

    4. I editted out a lot of the crowd noise between the songs and the majority of Eddie's speeches simply in favour of being able to include more tracks this way.

    5. Most of the transitions between the songs are pretty solid but there are a few that I wish I could have made better.

    Anyway, enjoy.

    This one's for you, Ronnie.

  4. you hit the point!
PJ embody the real and pure concept of Rock concert at the best level .. i can hardly think of someone else doing it in the same way .. probably Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi.
U2 should exhume the spirit they had in the 80's and partially in the Elevation
  5. great work Matt
i will surely listen to it; i'm curious how those wonderful shows flow in your "ideal" setlist mix of them

  6. wow thank you for the dedication (i'm not sure it's the right word).. so kind .. i'm flattered
  7. And here's Mexico 2003:

I don't think it's as good as the Italy one (there's a couple of segues that could be better and I didn't get around to dating each track) but it's still not too bad. It fills in some song omissions from the Italy mix. However, I'll do a 2000 mix or two in the near future so I can include Binaural tracks as well as s few others (Off He Goes, Long Road, Sometimes, In Hiding, Brain of J,etc.) in a mix that didn't make either of these compilations.

  8. I suppose it was a dedication.

Thanks friend...this song os one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, and it became even more special for me...

And I hope to see PJ here again soon. E. Vedder made some beautiful speaches for us and he looked very happy about being here after 6 years. I cleary could feel something special on the bands performance.

i'm going to take this too of course

  11. one of the many amazing things of this band is that they play each and every night like it were the show of their life ... one-night-only concert.
some succeed better than others of course but that it's in the human things
