  2. A friend told me today that he could get hold of a vinyl player for me, he doesn't use it, so he might just give it to me... for FREE!

    I cannot wait to listen to vinyl - I've only heard great things about it.

    I hope it's a good one! There can be quite a difference.

    You may need a RIAA amplifier as well.

  6. It amplifies the phono signal from the vinyl player. If you don't have a phono jack on your stereo, you'll need one, the normal phono signal is too weak for today's normal jacks.

    It may also be called stuff like phono amplifier, phono pre-amp.
