1. OK, here I go: 1992-11-04 - Vancouver, British Columbia - B.C. Place Stadium

    - Performance -

The bootleg opens with the George Bush-rap, which was typical for this American/Canadian leg of the tour. Its was election night in the U.S.A. and Bill Clinton was to be the winner. Funny to hear Bush doing the “we will, we will, rock you” again. As the crowd are screaming louder, you just know Bono is appearing in front of the interference on the screen to start Zoo Station. I can see it in my head all over again; those were the days….
It’s an easy and comfortable performance tonight; it was the second night in Vancouver: time to loosen up and enjoy the gig themselves. That pleasure is what you hear in the performance. Strong rendition of The Fly, followed by watching TV and offcourse Even Better Than The Real Thing. “Achtung Y’all! “ sounds passionfull, but from a sore throat. Edge’s solos are magical and solid. Mysterious Ways, is nice to hear with complete Edge-solo again, the solo that I missed so much on the 360-tour…. And yes, Bono manages the falsetto-parts. One is good and has strong vocals, including “Can you hear me coming Lord?”, which is beautifull! She's A Mystery To Me is actually quite long I think. Until The End Of The World is pretty standard, nothing extra-ordinary. New Year's Day is in place, although by now I get a little irritated by the screaming crowd. Bono’s extra lines at the beginning are cool! THE coolest part of this night is Larry singing Wild Rover. for two whole verses and refrains! Good on him, let’s try that again on the next club-tour!
The next mentionable bit is When Love Comes To Town, because Adam (!) sings a whole verse of it (the last verse), far too fast for Larry and Edge to follow. Rumour has it by the way, that Larry also added vocals to Dancing Queen tonight, but that is really indistinguishable. Bad is ruined by the foolish people who scream senselessly. I like a bit of enthousiasm, but really….
Bullet The Blue Sky is Angry. “Americaaaaaaaaaaa!” Just before Edge’s solo (at 1:45) you can hear Bono mumble: “ Goodbye George Bush, I don’t think we’ll miss you that much!”
Before I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Bono remarks that he’s glad that U2 added a second Vancouver show as it “fucked up the scalpers”. Stand By Me is pretty special. I listened to that a few more times. Desire has Bono stating: “ I don’t wanna be Elvis tonight, I wanna be Bono tonight. You love me for who I am, don’t you? I don’t have to pull on al this shit for you, do I?”
With Or Without You is excellent, including the right snippets (you know which ones I mean). Love Is Blindess is THE highlight, but it has been on the whole of this tour. Can't Help Falling In Love is a real treat.

    Rating: 4 out of 5

    - Audience -

Decent audience, I think. I don’t like the senseless screaming, arguing and talking, but that is just for a few songs. It’s tragic that Bad is ruined, but overall there is nice crowd participation.

    Rating: 3 out of 5

    - Sound -

4 stars, I find to be correct. It’s pretty clear in general.

    Rating: 4 out of 5

    - Overall -

Those were the days for good setlists! Really spirited and tight performance, with humour. Ecellent guitar work, and you gotta love Larry and Adam singing!!

    Highlights:
    - Larry singing!
    - Solo in Mysterious Ways
    - One
    - Fool To Cry snippet
    - With Or Without You
    - Love Is Blindess

    Not so good:
    - The screaming and arguing fools in the crowd

    Rating: 3.5 out of 5

  2. Totally agree with some of the points you made. Can't believe how unenjoyable Bad was because of those few people arguing. Stand By Me, like you said, is a pretty special moment. One of the tracks I'm likely to keep revisiting in the future. Some real nice gems to be heard throughout, the encore is a particular highlight.

    Thanks for reviewing!
  3. will review this later today .....
  4. Here's my review for 1992-11-04 - Vancouver, British Columbia - B.C. Place Stadium

    - Performance -

First of all i would like to say i didn't listen much to Outside broadcast shows so this show was new for me. It started of with the George bush mix wich i love ...Zoostation is as always a good start! During the whole tour it gives me the feeling that i wanna be there ..Bono's voice is not as good as always an in the part: i'l be crawling arround he even sings false ....but oke it sounds like he is struggeling to get to the end of the song ...The Fly Edge high notes are not real good this night (voice) his guitar playing is great his solo is great ..Bono's voice sounds tired and it sounds like he is hoarse .Than the talking begins before Even better than the real thing Bono asked where the commercials are in Canada ... The song is started and Bono's voice is getting better in my opinion ...the song is played as good so if it should be. mysterious ways is started it looks like the music is harder than Bono's voice...the crowd sings along with the it's allright part. The band is just getting it and bono's voice is just getting better and better he also got the high falsetto back the song ends more powerfull than it started. One sounds beautiful for me as one of the highlights of the show..great to here the band at his best ...love the She's A Mystery To Me even it sounds not as great as it should be but hey it is:She's A Mystery To Me one of my favorite songs written by Bono and The Edge. Until The End Of The World Sounds as good as it is and gives the show a powerkick the solo is great . New year's day what can i say it sounds very standard ...just like Joost say's the sound of the crowd started irritating me ..you go to a concert to join the music not to have big conversations ...
Larry comes on to sing Wild rover but he get no respons of the crowd that i accepted no clapping or singing at al...I think the canadian crowd is not well- known with this song because if he will do this in Holland he would get the whole crowd to clap and sing with him.
Trying to throw your arms around the world i don't know what it is but this song sounds always bedraggled to me ...it's not one of my favorites just skip this please .....The only thing i like about this song are the lyric and the bridge part ...i hate that annoying organ what keeps going on and on ...time to get a beer...pfff it's over Angel of harlem
one of my favorites but what an Echo there is and than that annoying singing of that girl in the background ... shit up B*tch i try to listen to the concert. Go home sing under your shower ...this is what destroyed this boot for me ...what was i listen to aaah Angel of harlem can't remember it because of that girl thank you ..Dancing Queen started but didn't get a grip at all by the crowd Bono react by allright i believe yeh after a second start of this song and it ends before it even started. When love comes to town
Best part of the show Adams sings a whole verse at the end of the song ..if you could quote this singing but he his fun because you can here him laugh ... Satelite of love now the most annoying part of the show for me!!! There's that girl again and some other people who disturb the show..i can't concetrate me to the song ...but i love this song so much ...it's one of the highlights normaly for me ...but no this time Bad And now they also destroy Bad ... you can here some fight and people wrangle togheter that's what i called Bad you can even here somebody say '' Don't push me" !!! The performance of bad is great ...of what i heard bono's voice sounds amazing in this song ..full of power
Bullit the blue sky starts and sounds amazing it also sounds that the music gets louder ...It's powerfull Running to stand still is also great ..i love the haleluja part but the crowd keep talking and talking in the background streets is as great as always .....there is nothing to coment about .....oke Adam was wrong with one note but hey ...Pride sounds indeed overplayed and Bono sounds tired
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
bono told the crowd that the band is a little tired he told them that some of them "get some sleep'' he says it's time to go home and he promise the crowd that if they see them again "where gonna kick your arse'' ...than a beautiful version starts from stand by me i love the part when The Edge is gonna sing ... just remember that they played this in Dortmund during my first U2 concert ever ...Encore time ....Bono as the mirrorbalman ....screams when he looks in the mirror : you look like shit man !!! It's a very powerfull version... it sounds like there is no point in Bono ....he don't wanna be Elvis but he wanted to be himself ...just like the crowd wanted him ....That's all folks screams he at the end ...fire works is going of ...bono is calling the lady who tells him the time ...Hey no Ultra violet ???!!! but right into With Or Without You Bono wish Frazer a Happy birthday ...for me it's a good performance with some little mistakes ...Bono sings at the end i can't live whitout you ..i think he means the crowd....Love is blindness .....such a beauty Edge is going of during the guitarsolo ... it's the end of the second night in Vancouver ...love this song and at the end Can't Help Falling In Love. Love when bono does the low voice normaly but this time he is a little bit struggeling ...the high parts are good ....Elvis still in the building ...

    Rating: 3 of 5

    - Audience -
In the first part of the show the audience sounds great but from Angel of harlem until running to stand still is so annoying to me ... that i don't know if i would listen to this show again ..that girl and then the fight during Bad ...

    Rating : 2 of 5

    - Sound -

I think the sound is more a 3.5 than a 4 star because of the sound of the audience ..it's to much for me! I wanna hear the band and not the crowd .thats what me the most disturb;..only when they are clapping and singing allong that's when i enjoy it but they keep on talking and talking and talking ....

    Rating: 3.5 of 5

    -Overall -

It's not one of the best shows i heard ...you can realy here that the band is tired (maibe they had a great party the night before after the first show ) i think i not listen to this show again it miss something there was no magic in the air that night ..just like the band did not connect with the crowd ...

    Highlights:
    Larry singing and adam ...
The part when the band pick up the moment Mysterious way to get it all togheter after a tuff start ..
streets ( except for the wrong note )
she's a mystery to me snippet
    stand by me Edge part
    love is blindness

    Lowlights :
That annoying girl singing and screaming in the background all the time
People talking during a concert ....it keeps on going ..in the middle part of the show
    fight during Bad
Bono's voice at the beginning of the show until mysterious way

    rating 3 of 5
  5. Here we go:

    Performance: (4 stars)
When you have so many U2 shows available it is sometimes difficult to pick a random one. When I started listening to this show I had to go on. To rate the performance of a band from an audio recording you should hear more than just the music. Which I absolutely do, I hear the spirit, the enthousiasm, very good performance. Some songs obviously better than others, but in general a great performance of the band. The encore is outstanding.

Special note to Larry for performing Wild Rover, always one for a good laugh. A show that definitely resembles the Outside Broadcast leg.

    Audience: (3 stars)
It's difficult to rate the audience here, when I think of the audience I think of one song: Streets. You feel like you're almost there if you listen to it.

    Sound: (4,5 stars)
The audio quality is amazing, it is a great mix of vocals, instruments and crowd. Especially for this era the quality is very good. One of the bootlegs I would definitely recommend to others as a ZooTV Outside Broadcast introduction.

    Overall: (4 stars)
A solid 4 star rating for this bootleg and show. It gets better during the show, the show itself is good but the encore is outstanding. One of the downsides for me was Bad, which is not one of very best Bad performances. I'm still in the opinion that Bad doesn't belong on ZooTV, opposed to just a few great performances (Dublin RDS for instance).

Also a special mention for the snippets, I am a snippet lover and I was caried away by Stand By Me & Dancing Queen. Don't know if you should name them snippets in such a rendition but it really adds to the performance.

That is what i like about reviews you have such different ideas how a show would sound like ...or what you expected how it would be ...i think the mix of vocals ,instuments and crowd are terrible if you listen to 1992-09-06 - Toronto, Ontario - Canadian National Exhibition stadium it's way much better only at the beginning the sound is to low ...but that's my opinion ...and the snippet of dancing Queen ?!!?? it was over before it started ..i wanna hear more ...than only "oh oh oh dancing Queen" ....Bono even cutting it of because he got no respons of the crowd ....Yeh a view ...where singing allong ...Nope this was not my kind of show ...
  7. Perforamce - 4 stars

A standard ZooTV set with a nice few little surprises. All of the band get to sing a little bit at some point. Larry has a rendition of Wild Rover, Adam "sings" a little bit of WLCTT and Edge has a verse of Stand By Me. I suppose there must be a show where this has happened before, but I've never heard it.

Bono seems to be on good form, especially after UTEOTW, where he comes a bit more to life. Edge has a standard night, with a really good outro to UTEOTW, this is probably what promted Bono to pick up his game! That's one thing I love about this band - the way they bounce off each other to produce better performances.

    Audience - 3.5 stars

They are definately up for it, although they were a bit poor during the "clap clap clap" in Wild Rover, think they could have helped Larry out a bit more there!

    Sound - 3.5 stars

The sound is good, but there are a few little niggly things that could be better. The sound seems to get much better for The Fly, and then there is far too much crowd noise during the acoustic set - one woman screaming so much it ruins the end of Lovetown and beginning o Bad.

    Overall - 3.5 stars

A standard ZooTV show without being really amazing.

Fabulous NYD, real energy to that.

Only low-light would be the noise in the acoustic set.
  8. Some interesting points being made. Everyone has a collective negativity towards the audience, particularly around Bad, deservedly so.

Alos good to see people populating the review pages for the show
  9. Performance
The opening trio of songs are solid and nothing special in my opinion.

Then, at the beginning of Mysterious Ways you can hear Bono yelling enthusiastically which is for me a sign that he is enjoying himself.

One is great as always during Zoo TV shows. Unfortunately I have to admit that since Zoo TV I never heard such powerful versions of One. The different tone for the Hear Us Coming snippet is a nice alternation compared to the usual Hear Us Coming snippets. For me the Hear Us Coming part is an absolute MUST for any live version of One. Without thinking I always start singing this part at the end of One, despite it's being played or not. The transition into She's a Mystery to Me is brilliant as always!

Until the End of The World shows great energy and the 'Is this Rock and Roll...I don't know' shouting of Bono is awesome.

During the intro of New Years Day I like the way Bono whispers 'some things change' which is being followed up with an incredible strong shout. Don't listen much to New Years Day in bootlegs but this beginning made me enthusiastic from the very fist second.

Then the sentence 'Larry will you sing us a song?' is something I always look forward to in Zoo TV shows. Even though I heard him saying 'This is an Irish drinking song' I am always exited to hear this funny typically ZOO intermission. After Wild Rover there is no better introduction by Larry than his 'This is a new Irish drinking song, Trying to Throw Your Arms Around The World'.

Even though it is not mentioned in the tracklist I love the little Beatles homage at the beginning of Angel of Harlem. Dont know if we may call it a snippet because of it's short length but Bono's 'Hello Goodbye' intro for Angel of Harlem is awesome!!!! Also the sequence into Dancing Queen is a fantastic snippet for Angel of Harlem. 'Have you heard of Abba around hear' is funny to hear from Bono.

Love Comes To Town is not as powerful as during the Love Town period but still is enjoybale. Especially the part where Adam is singing.

Bad speaks for itself and is good as always...very annoying that the girl is screaming through it though. The All I Want is You snippet is beautiful however In my opinion there are far more powerful snippets for Bad like Sympathy for the Devil or Walk on the Wild Side for instance.

Bullet the Blue Sky seems to me to be played a little bit faster than usual but I might be wrong. Edge's guitar solo is howling like it is supposed to be and thus brilliant! Also I loved when Bono said: 'Goodbye George Bush...I don't think we will miss you that much' Great little political statement which doesn't ruin a song or the flow of the concert!

Running to Stand Still sequencing into Streets is maybe the most intense moment of any Zoo TV show. Such sheer brilliance....

Pride is not one of my favorites but Bono's shout in the intro shows that his voice was on fire in this area. Same goes for Still Haven't Found however I liked the talking at the beginning. "We had a lot of fun this year. If you see us again we gonna kick your ass' Also Bono's remark about skalpers is funny. The transition into Stand By Me is nice however nothing can beat the Stand By Me version with Bruce Springsteen in Philadelphia back in 1987.

The encore is full of raw energy and especially Desire. Bono's 'I dont want to be Elvis tonight, I want to be Bono' is hilarious.

The closing duo Love is Blindness and Cant Help Falling in Love is beautiful as always but just as the opening trio nothing special.

    Overall grade: 4.5

    Audience
Despite the hysterical girl screaming next to the taper from Angel of Harlem and on it seems like the audience is having a great time. Especially the crowds reaction after the very first minute when Bono is screaming 'Achtung Y'all' is poof of an audience on fire. Also during the channel zapping part the crowd shows great participation. I wonder what is on the 3th channel because it results in a very strong BOOOing from the audience It's a sin however that you hear people discussing the security guy who is apparently 'looking like an CIA agent' during the snippets in Bad.

Taking into account that just a few people next to the taper are talking and screaming annoyingly shouldnt result in a bad grade of the overall audience, therefore I will give this one a 4

    Sound

Had a great listen so will rate this with a 4

    Overall
See my notes above...all together I give a 4 star rating!

I thought that was because he turned something off?
  12. Damn Mediafire, won't let me download the show... AARRGHH

I was planning to listen to the lossless version, but since I'll be traveling, I need the lossy for my iPod.
