Originally posted by RUMMY:Pearl (and Polyethylene Pts 1 & 2) are both great songs - right up there (but just slightly below for me) with the two OKC b-sides I mentioned, True Love Waits is also great - I just didn't consider it for "b-side status."
Not too sure if you're familiar with some of their unreleased stuff but "Big Boots," "Follow Me Around," and "Lift" are three great tunes that many Radiohead fans (including yours truly) wish that the band would officially release on a studio album. The first two I mentioned appeared in the 1998 film Meeting People Is Easy. (Have you seen it? It's really good.) There's hope for these songs since tracks like "How To Disappear Completely," "Life In A Glass House," and "Nude" also appeared in the movie and were eventually released on a studio album.

Originally posted by RUMMY:MPIE is based upon Radiohead's trials and tribulations of recording and touring in 1997/1998. It's a bit of a downer, to be honest (some people lashed out at Radiohead for coming across as a bunch of whiners for this film) but I quite enjoyed it, nonetheless. In fact, I own it.
As for the songs, there is a guy (his name escapes me at the moment) who indpendently reoworked both Big Boots and Follow Me Around a few years back. The versions are okay but maybe a bit too "clean" by Radiohead's standards.

Will the fact that they plan to focus mainly on the last two albums influence your decision to attend?
I missed out on the In Rainbows tour so if they get around to coming to Toronto, I might try to get tickets.

There's one (maybe two) decent performances of Big Boots out there but I never got aroound to downloading them.
Originally posted by RUMMY:In Rainbows is great - sometimes I rank it as high as my #2 Radiohead album. What makes them so interesting is that (almost) each album seems to fit a certain...mood...time of day...The fact that one day I like The Bends better than Kid A and then it switches the next day tells me that there is something...substantial/sustaining... about their music.
Great band when they don't overdo the beeps and blips.
