1. Performance: 4 Stars
Pretty standard ZooTV performance. I love the energy they bring to open the show. It's not the best ZooTV performance, but it's not the worst either.

    Audience: 3 Stars
I didn't really hear much of the audience, but when I did they were kind of annoying, specifically during the quiet parts of Bad. That may be because of where the taper was, but it did make some parts difficult to listen to.

    Sound: 4 Stars
I was pleasantly surprised by the sound for this show. Especially for a ZooTV bootleg, this show was definitely a good listen. I always enjoy finding an audience show like this. As I said above, the only issue I had was with some of the audience talking during certain spots.

    Overall: 4 Stars
This is definitely a bootleg worth listening to. While nothing was special setlist-wise, I certainly enjoyed She's a Mystery to Me at the end of One. It's a beautiful song I wish they would bring out more often. Other highlights for me were RTSS-WTSHNN, which always gives me chills, and the encore, specifically WOWY, was great, as it usually was on ZooTV. The only lowlight for me was no Ultraviolet in an otherwise stellar encore, but you can find that in plenty of other ZooTV shows.

This wouldn't be the first ZooTV bootleg I'd recommend, but it's definitely worth a listen if you enjoy this era of U2.
  2. Some good reviews come in so far! Last day tomorrow, then we get stuck into the next bootleg, which, has already been picked!

I'm going to download the lossy version tonight, so I'll be reviewing this one

They are not the same version?
  5. A short review by me: I do not have much time today but wanted to put my two cents in. Listened to it last night.

    Performance ★★★
The first and last songs are solid as ever. Bono is struggling every once in a while. I especially liked 'She's A Mystery To Me', 'Streets' and 'All I Want Is You'. 'Wild Rover' is just funny.

    Audience ★★
Irritating, for example at the end of Bad. Ruins the songs for me.

    Sound ★★★
I didn't like the mix, but I guess it's part of ZOO TV.

    Overall ★★★
I wouldn't listen to it again. I have a nice little Dublin '93 show and I'm fine with that.
  6. ...
  7. Here's my review copied over here.

    Performance: 4
The band sounded pretty good to me. I particularly enjoyed the She's a Mystery to Me snippet during One. Nice change from the usual Unchained Melody Snippet. Also a big fan of the All I Want Is You snippet during Bad and Stand By Me is great as always.

    Audience: 3
I don't really know what to do for this one so I'm giving them a three. They sounded like they were into it at times. Obviously the funniest part has to be listening to the people threaten to beat the crap out of each other during Bad. My favorite is the guy who's like "c'mon we're all fans of the band here don't fight." I feel like I listened to that exact conversation take place at least half a dozen times this summer on 360.

    Sound: 3.5
Sound is pretty good for the most part. A good audience recording. Only thing that detracts from it are the random people screaming at times which overpowers the band sound but you get that with almost any audience recording. Obviously the aforementioned brawl detracts from one of the best songs on the bootleg as well.

    Overall: 4
Enjoyed the gig. Good start to the bootleg roundtable 5.0.

    Highlights:
    -Snippetry
    - Fight during Bad

    Lowlights:
    - Fight during Bad
  8. Here is mine, I hope you like it!

    Performance: 4 stars
An average ZooTV performance, I expected a bit more from them.

Bono sounds good throughout the show, but it's always like if there is something missing. Compared to other ZooTV shows, he seems a bit tired sometimes, especially at the end of the show (With or Without You, Pride). He still tries to give it all (the screaming part at the beginning of NYD, the Hallelujah part in Running to Stand Still, even if not is best, is full of passion).
Edge gives an average performance. No errors, no highlights either. His singing on Stand By Me is nice, however his backing vocals aren't that great (maybe it's because of the sound quality, however).
I feel Larry made a really good job that night, his singing on Wild Rover is always a nice moment to listen to, because it's rare.
And Adam sings too, which is a very great surprise I didn't expected at all. His bass job isn't that listenable thourghout the bootleg however (for instance, it sounds like the NYD intro almost didn't have bass).

    Audience: 2.5 stars
I don't know if I should have talked about that on the sound quality part, however, I think this is the weak point of the bootleg. You don't listened to them that much singing along, however you can hear them talking, screaming (in a terrible way), even fighting. The beginning of Bad is terrible on that point for instance.

    Sound: 3.5 stars
I think it is a good audience bootleg from 1992, even if today, compared to 360° audience recordings, it can sound very poor. As I said, the audience is annoying, the bass isn't that listenable. Bono's voice and guitar (when used) are prominent. The whole band sounds far away. Despite all those negative points, the bootleg is far from being unlistenable, and it certainly is a great audience recording for the ZooTV period.

    Overall: 3.5 stars
There are some highlights and a few lowlights, so I enjoyed this show less than the best ZooTV gigs, but more than many bootlegs I've listened to so far.

    Highlights :

    - The Mysterious Ways extended solo
    - The surprise with the She's a Mystery to Me snippet instead of Unchained Melody
    - Larry and Adam singing
    - New Year's Day doesn't sound perfect but it sounds different, and I liked it, after having listened to 1084984 different performances of it.
    - Where the Streets Have No Name is very powerful
    - Stand By Me

    Lowlights :

    - I feel like I didn't enjoy the first 4 songs as much than I should have.
    - The audience who is annoying sometimes during the show
    - Bono's voice isn't that great, which must be underlined since this is a ZooTV show...
    - I miss Ultraviolet.

So... I still haven't had the time to listen. Very sorry for this. I hope you won't hang me for a late review...
  10. My review is on the show pages, but I'm currently on my iPod so I can't copy it over.
  11. As tradition dictates, I am late posting my review of the show. Anyway, traditions shall be respected, shouldn't they?

Now being serious: the worst part of posting late reviews is that everything has already been said. Anyway, another point of view never hurts.

    Performance ★★★½
Three stars and a half is something like a 7. The verbal definition is: notable. And this concert, considered alone, is notable. So far, so good. The bad part of it is that this concert was part of the magnificent Outside Broadcast leg from the magnificent Zoo TV tour. That brings you down a little. When you have 50 almighty concerts with a 90% identical setlist but outstanding recordings and performances, "3 stars and a half" is just not good enough. Nothing stands out as particularly bad, but nothing stands out as amazingly good either. The band is solid, with Edge delivering some excellent performances (Mysterious Ways, Until The End Of The World, Love Is Blindness) and Larry and Adam enjoying their brief on-the-spot moments (Wild Rover and When Love Comes To Town, respectively). Bono comes and goes, with sheers of brilliance (New Year's Day intro, Msyterious Ways falsettos, One, Desire) but also some lackluster vocals every now and then (Pride, The Fly, Dancing Queen).
Stand By Me is a favorite of mine, and it helps giving this an additional (and completely biased) half-a-star.

    Audience ★★★
The most difficul part of the review... What shall we do? Rate negatively the few idiots screaming and fighting near the taper (important point - those annoying blokes were near the taper, but they could have been in other part of the arena and we wouldn't know about their fights) or rate positively the good ambient and crowd participation? Oh well, 3 stars do it for me.

    Sound ★★★
The bootleg sounds good. Not excellent, not bad. Good. From the top of my head, there are about 40 better audience-recorded Zoo TV's I can think of... Once again, the constant screaming and talking around the taper brings this down. It could have been a 4 stars recording if the taper had been in other location of the same arena and withthe same equipment.

    Overall ★★★
The extra half-star of the performance field is not enough to bring up the average rating, so it just stays with 3 stars. It could have been a very good show if the taper had been in other part of the venue and if Bono had been more spot on. As it is, it's just a "good" show, but just not good enough of a Zoo TV show.
