    Performance (4 out of 5):
    It's generally good performance by the band, but there is just things that are a tad lackluster. There wasn't that much variation on ZooTV, so the band were used to playing the same songs over and over - so that was all fine. Bono's voice was a bit like a weird rollercoaster. It started off great, but got quite bad as the show went on. But, towards the end, his voice started to improve. Zoo Station was great, and so was Love is Blindness - but that's a personal opinion, of course.

    Great to hear Larry singing Wild Rover, and Adam making a surprise vocal apperance too.

    Audience (3 out of 5):
    Very fucking annoying. This bootleg was recorded in an area in the stadium where there were complete asshats, there being: arguments, talking over the recording... It was mainly during 'Bad' when everyone was talking and arguing over the recording. It completely ruined the song. And that being one of U2's best songs, was just frustrating. Those people should be bloody hung for ruining it.

    If I were to ignore those people around the recording, I'd probably say this rating was fair anyway.

    Sound (4 out of 5):
    I pretty much agree with the rating that was given to the bootleg already. 4 stars.

    Overall (3.5 out of 5):
    Decent performance of the show, but this is nothing special, because there are other greater ZooTV shows out there. It had its moment (fight in Bad, especially), and ups and downs, but this is what I'm giving it.

  2. So, after receiving 12 reviews, here is the summary of what we thought:

    Despite receiving mixed reviews, the highlights of the show still far outweighed the negative points. It was agreed that the beginning of the show lacked any real power compared to other shows on the Zoo TV tour and this could've possibly been down to Bono's poor vocal performance at the start. That said however, a few members did pick out a few moments that they thought stood out. KieranU2 and patou2 were keen on the renditions of Zoo Station and The Fly respectively, whilst u2joost and Thib6992 both singled out Mysterious Ways' solo as a highlight. A few members actually thought that Mysterious Ways was the turning point for the band as Bono found his voice and delivered some exceptional falsettos.

    Of the back of this, nearly half of the members listed some part of One/She's A Mystery To Me as a highlight. Positivity towards the welcome change from Unchained Melody. This form seemed to continue with four members singling out New Year's Day for some praise, topped of with yet another highlight in Larry singing Wild Rover. There was little praise though for the acoustic set, whilst a few members liked the Dancing Queen snippet, a lot complained about the noise from a few crowd members near the source. A particular highlight of the mid-section was When Love Comes To Town, not for it's energy or homage to Lovetown, but for Adam's unexpected short verse.

    There was undoubted frustration at Bad, many commenting on the 'fight' that seemed to last throughout, though, in stark contrast, Doc32 listed it as a highlight! Luckily Bad was completely ruined as there were as many people commenting on the snippets at the end, particularly All I Want Is You. As expected, there were favourable comments towards the Zoo TV spectacular that is Running To Stand Still > Where The Streets Have No Name. Building up to what many considered was a great end to the main set, Stand By Me performed equally between Bono and The Edge.

    The encore for many was a highlight and judging by the reviews, it seemed to get better as it went on. Two members singled out Desire, three singled out With Or Without You and four members praised Love Is Blindness. The end it seems, is as fun as the start. But, it wasn't without it's critics, some labelled it as average whilst there was an understandable longing for Ultra Violet which didn't appear.

    All in all, a favourable response to the show. Many of us agree on what were the highest and lowest points.

    Pretty much the band was doing a good show here. Wouldn't say it was their greatest show but there were lots of good performances e.g. Streets (as nearly always), Bad wasn't too bad and was nice to hear Shine Like Stars as well. Also liked the Love Is Blindness rendition here for some reason, probably one of my favourites. The vocals in Love Comes To Town, just amazing - and Larry on Dirty Old Town was randomnly funny, like some guy who's angry at the world just decides to shout.

    And hearing an Adam vocal - well, that was unexpected, short as it was.

    I'd liked (not loved) to have been at this show, particularly getting six or seven Achtung openers to start. That's not a sign of having balls but having confidence. I've never been to a U2 show or even any show where they've played more than five songs off a new record, let alone in a row. Desire needs a particular mention for Bono's random 'outburst'. I had to skip back to that very point to hear the ANGER in that beginning.




    Audience: 3 stars
    They were pretty excited during some songs there e.g. When Love Comes To Town (why you'd ruin a good song I have no idea, unless you're THAT girl) and Bullet The Blue Sky, they went off for those. Except when they started (or rather, THAT girl) started the screaming, I got a real headache - aaaarrrgghhhhhhh. Apart from that, they were in it and generally receptive. THAT girl also messed up what was going to be a good Bad (pun intended), but THAT girl, she needs a lesson in shush.




    Sound: 3.5 stars
    Not bad for the age and the source of the recording (audience). Heard better, heard worse - it was listenable unlike some previous shows that we've reviewed before (cough cough Adelaide). All the instruments, the snares, the bass, the whatever was there and that I like. A recording can be muddy as a rudder but if you can make out everything, then it's not bad.




    Overall: 3.5 stars
    THAT girl ruined some songs with her damn screaming - people next to her probably went home and dismantled their eardrums for fear of hearing noise ever again. Apart from her, the band gave a good performance, nothing spectacular but worthwhile. Again, not a brilliant show but it was good Sunday afternoon listening.

  11. Very sorry for this late review:

    Performance:
    Band not really into it at the beginning. It starts to get quite good at Mysterious Ways, however, I didn't feel any real power from the show until the outro of Until the End of The World, which was awesome. She's A Mystery To Me was a nice touch. New Year's Day was a little less boring than it usually is on a ZooTV boot, but still nowhere near versions from other tours. Larry was fun, the crowd loved it too. Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around the world is always a nice moment. The 'Hello Goodbye' snippet before Angel of Harlem was a very nice touch. When Love Comes To Town was performed with some very nice energy, really great to hear. One of the worst versions of Bad I've heard, but that probably was the crowd's fault. I always like hearing anger in Bullet the Blue Sky, so that was nice. Streets has a below average performance, which mind you, still means brilliance. Pride has a normal pretty boring ZooTV version. Stand By Me is a nice touch. Desire is pretty nice, a song I only like on ZooTV. The lack of Ultra Violet is disappointing to say the least. The ending songs of the course were performed really well.

    Overall this is a good performance, but a bit unstable. I'll give it 3 1/2 stars.

    Audience:
    They talk way too much for my taste, they make some great noises though, like during Wild Rover and Dancing Queen. But they still talk waaaay too much.

    Sound:
    Not very good I'm afraid. The vocal sound is very bad, sounds kinda like Bono is singing through a guitar amp. Pretty muddy recording, but still it is listenable and you hear everything, unfortunately that includes some crowd members. And girl, please STFU.

    Overall:
    A decent show. The sound is unfortunately pretty bad. I'll give 3 1/2 just because it's ZooTV.
