1. I've been watching lots of Oasis live videos and interviews and awards etc etc...

I've finally come to realize that Liam was/is just plain stupid.

Noel said he knew he was goin to have to play 2 nights in NYC.Past shows here were always fantastic, even with Liam's attitude.I first saw Oasis on July 21st,1994.The band played a small club/bar called the Wetlands.I live about 8 blocks from that location,in TriBeCa.(Sadly, that place is long gone).I had heard Supersonic a few times, and a friend said they were really good.Place wasnt even close to half full. They played maybe 12 songs. They sounded very good.I loved Live Forever, and they played an amazing version of Iam The Walrus. After that gig,I was hooked.Im not even sure how many times Ive seen Oasis, but its alot.I saw them twice in Europe in 2000,and in London 2002 and 2005.

I just hope in the spring,he (NOEL) comes back here.

So cool that you heard Oasis so eearly on in their career. I reay only knew (and really liked) "Live Forever" when WTSMG came out. I very quickly got into their first two albums in the fall of 1995.

You MIGHT be right. I have no argument that counters your comment.

"Saints" and "Windows in the Skies" should NOT have taken up two spots on it (should have included something like "The Fly" and ....take your pick) and those two tracks could have been released as an accompanying double a-side single.

True.18 Singles was a waste. You already had the 2 best of releases,Vol.1 and Vol.2.I guess the only way the band could get away with it,was to include a couple of new, very mediocre songs.Saints, was a fucking embarrassment IMO.I mean,Green Day ? ? Talk about a band full of juvenile delinquents.I cant stand them. Why not Pearl Jam ?? Bono and EV get along very well. That could have worked well.
  5. While were on the topic, how about a duel, I mean duet with Noel...or, god help us, Liam?

    Now THAT would be ...interesting.
  6. You mean like Acquiesce ?....lol

My friend Chris and his family left a couple days ago, they live in London. He called me yesterday from his home.He told me to look at my copy of High Flyin Birds.I was like huh ? I did so,and there was a print out, order confirmation.2 tickets to see Noel.02.26.12..the O2 Arena,London....damn...he outdid me again....lol....I've been on the phone with British Airways since...lol.....fired up ?......slightly...lol....

I took him last week to see Noel at the Beacon....but.....he upped me again...lol...damned Brit....lol
  7. hahaha, that's a great story, Ed So you're seeing Noel at the glorious O2 in the boxing day. Amazing

I pretty much agree with your analysis as well. Noel was always the one who came off smart and witty in the interviews. Liam usually just sounds like a clown

  9. Yes thanks. I havent been back to Europe since 2008.It will be a blast Im sure.
  10. show of monday in Milan will be transmitted live in a couple of italian tv channels
and if i've understood well the show in Amsterdam will be streamed on eurovision culture
  11. OK...here's a question..which album do you prefer and think is better than the other....Heathen Chemistry or Dont Believe The Truth ?????.

I think Heathen is much better than Truth.Everyone always says Truth put the band "back on the map" and what have you. But,IMO,I dont think Truth is that great really. Its very good, but IMO Heathen is a much stronger release.

Lyla (a classic) and Idle (stunning tune) are GREAT tracks. No question.Turn Up The Sun, is a very good tune,a nice leadoff, and a solid offering from Andy Bell. Mucky Fingers is good.Bomb,is pleasant.Let There Be Love is a good tune, but a terrible choice as the 3rd single.Problem was, there were no other solid contender's.A Bell Will Ring would have maybe been a better choice.Maybe.

Once you get past the 5th track (Idle),you have 6 average, decent tunes.I have always liked Keep The Dream Alive.Stop The Clocks would have saved this part of the disc.

    Now,look at Heathen Chemistry.

The Hindu Times is classic Oasis.Little By Little,Force Of Nature,She Is Love are really good Noel tunes.Stop Crying Your Heart Out,Songbird,All In The Mind and Better Man are all really good.Born On A Different Cloud and Hung In A Bad Place are decent.Songbird is a very good song from Liam.

5 singles were released from Heathen, while Truth has only 3 singles. And Let There Be Love was, IMO, a forced release.

IMO, Heathen is more rockin' and overall better release.

  12. Lyla and Idle make the difference for me.
