1. True, they are classic songs. But do 2 great songs make Truth ,as a whole, better than Heathen ?

IMO Hindu is as good a tune as Lyla, and Little By Little is close to Idle.Lyla is more commercial to me.Both Lyla and Hindu are great classic Oasis songs.
  2. Both albums would be virtually tied if it wasn't for Lyla and Idle. A Lyla-less Truth would be a worse album than Heathen
  3. Aside from the singles, I'm not much of a fan of Heathen Chemistry. I think DBTT is a more well-rounded album.
  4. if i have to choose a song from those 2 albums is Stop Crying Your Heart Out .. i think it's the one that can make the difference
  5. Lyla is tied with Hindu Times...

Importance of Being Idle beats Little by Little

I actually prefer Guess God Thinks I'm Abel to Songbird (I'm probably in the minority with this opinion)

However, Stop Crying Your Heart Out stands above at least any of the songs I have not mentioned from the two albums - especially Let There Be Love.
  6. I never really like Heathen Chemistry except for Little by Little, Songbird, Force of Nature, and SCYHO. DBTT sn't the best album ever but at least I can listen to it front to back

I agree except on the Songbird part.I do like the acoustic feel of Truth. Its just there iisnt much to rave about after the 2 singles.

Also,Noel didn't have enough of his songs on this release. And how is it,that they couldn't or wouldn't finish Stop The Clocks ? Noel said Liam was missing in action at the end of the sessions.Unreal.
  8. So...where does SOTSOG fit into all of this?

I generally prefer to pretend that album doesn't exist. Worst album by far imo

  10. Well...that's like the bands broken record. You have 3 great songs to start the album.Bushes,Go Let It Out and Who Feels Love.Nice way to start.

Sunday Morning Call is solid,as is Roll It Over.I wish they would have played those tunes at my Wembley gig in 2000.Little James is ok.I know the lyrics are silly, but its Liams debut. That tune might have gone over live as well.

The rest of the album is very average, with mediocre tunes. For a band as great as Oasis, half an album worth of ok tunes is not acceptable.

This album is actually very similar to Truth.Couple great songs.Couple good songs. And 5 or 6 very average tunes.

Its not as bad as people said back then. This release was ripped apart. Its just not a great record. Its very uneven IMO.
  11. No love for Gas Panic? I really like that song. Where Did It All Go Wrong isn't all...wrong...although a bit overblown...Be Here Now hangover, I suppose.

Let's All Make Believe is also a hidden gem (just ask the writers at Q Magazine).

Once again, I am probably in the minority but I put SOTSOG ahead of HC and close to DBTT.

Gas Panic and Where Did It All Go Wrong are good tunes.I did forget Let's All Make Believe and Cigarettes In Hell.I like those 2 more than I Can See A Liar and Put Your Money Where Yer Mouth Is.Talk about album fillers. Both also have brutal lyrics. Not 2 of Noels best.

Full On is also really good, and could have made the album.
