1. Of course you were kidding...as was I. I still like to attempt to meld humour and harmony though - unlike Liam and Noel.

I never thought Be Here Now was a bad release at all.Its a loud big album.I never understood why this release was killed. The guitars are all over this one.Liam vocals are great here. He's at his Lennon best.Yes,it's a bit long. But so what. It's bloated.Ok.Yes,its almost too much to take in all at once.Again,so what.

A bit of editing by Owen Morris, and this release is better recieved.

The big problem was OK Computer and Urban Hymns were also released that year. Both brilliant and better albums.

You look at the songs and some just dont end.Magic Pie 7:19.Its Gettin Better 7:00.All Around The World 9:20.Again,I blame Owen Morris for this.

Be Here Now is a really good song.Performed live I loved it.

Do You Know What I Mean ? (I love this one),at 7:43 is fine with me.Its that good. Its just a classic psychedelic monster of a tune.Great way to start the album.I always blast this one full on.

Dont Go Away is a beautiful tune. One of my favorites.I cant believe it didnt become a huge hit.I thought this was the Wondewall of the album. How and why it didnt take off is beyond me.This should have "saved" the release. The strings.Liams vocals. This tune shows why he was one of the best.

Stand By Me is classic Oasis.Great tune about Noel being a terrible cook.

Fade In-Out is a classic.Noel is all over this one.Liam's scream is great. This one HAS to be played at full volume.A fantastic rockin' jam.

A nice fade, around the 5:50 mark for All Around The World would have been perfect.A solid tune.

Noel has said he was all coked up for this one.A shame.Im sure he wouldnt have noticed if Owen edited some of the songs.

    The bottom line..its LOUD....its GOOD....its f***kin Oasis MAN !!! (lol).....and when you have had many,many a pint..its great rock n roll...Do you know what I mean ??..You betcha !!!
  3. "its f***kin Oasis MAN" this is the main problem with BHN (Be here now for all of those like me hehehe) .. i always got it like a forced sequel of Morning glory .. they (the market, the label or whoever) wanted to repeat themselves using the same keys ... the result nothing new nothing better at all.
if i wanna listen to those kind of songs i go for Morning glory.
i agree for D'You Know What I Mean? though
  4. Can't argue with too much here. I think you're too schooled in Oasis for me to put up a fight, anyway!

I love the live versions of Don't Go Away - it doesn't even need the strings.

(Also, I remember they played the studio version over the PA at MSG when Wayne Gretzky retired back in 1999).

LOLOLOLOL...I just feel this release got blasted for the wrong reasons.Yes,there are faults with this one.Go ahead and blast My Big Mouth (as I just did, sorry neighbors)..big bombastic LOUD music.Love it.

What about Dont Go Away,Stand By Me,Fade In-Out,All Around The World and Be Here Now ? You dont like any of those ?..Come on..yes you do !!..lol
  7. Magic Pie should not have been on this. Its a silly overblown tune.Stay Young is a solid tune,as is Going Nowhere.I dont know why Noel hated Stay Young, but the band performed it second on this tour most nights. What other band would perform a bside second ? PJ ? Ok who else ?

And the Warchild version of Fade Away is a classic.Put those 3 on this release, take off Magic Pie and The Girl In The Dirty Shirt (b side songs,at best).Thats 13 minutes saved. The albums flows better with the 3 "b-sides" IMO.It gives it a more balanced, less bloated feel.

More "throw aways" by this great band.
  8. I love MBM..sorry, Sergio...I mean, My Big Mouth...one of my favourites on the album.
  9. LOL.....when you get a chance, take out Magic Pie and Dirty Shirt.Mix in Fade Away (Warchild version),Going Nowhere and Stay Young

    Try it.
  10. Track ordering?

  11. There's a shortened version of All Around the World out there, no? Single edit?
  12. Also,I recently found a great sounding bootleg from this tour. From the site,Top Album. The gig is from the Netherlands,11.27.97.Sound is as good as the famous 12.14.97 Manchester gig.But the Manchester gig is a classic.Liam is wasted.I remember it was shown on MTV (yes, when they played music) around Christmas 1997.

I saw the band twice on this tour. The Hammerstein Ballroom here in Manhattan.Fantastic show, the ballroom was packed.Band were great, very into it.Liam was pumped. The band were....LOUD.One of my favorite gigs from them.

I also saw them in NJ,01.12.98,at the Continental Arena. It was half empty.Liam was not into this gig at all.Noel even seemed out of it.
