1. Bono already spoke about U2 doing this saying they had plans to make each show available for download after each concert. Well 7 years and 2 Tours later this still has not happened !!!!
  2. Originally posted by pleasegoneAfter all the complaining I have had about U2.com, this is at least one suggestion they have
listened to us on. A chance to choose tracks to be on a live album!!! I am hopeful the subscribers don't screw this up!

    Tracks We Should Vote For:

    Electrical Storm
    Mothers of The Dissappeared
    Breathe
    No Line On The Horizon
    The Unforgettable Fire
    Ultra Violet
    Zooropa

    and many others...

    Tracks NOT TO VOTE FOR:

I'll Go Crazy If This Damn song is on another release tonight!!!!

DO NOT VOTE for CRAZY. It is on Artificial Horizon, Wide Awake In Europe...and right
now it is winning over Electrical Storm...so DO NOT VOTE FOR THIS!!!!!!!!

Also, do NOT vote for Scarlet...or Sting Ray Guitar, both were so short, we need 22 FULL LENGTH SONGS...as muchas I want to vote for Spanish Eyes...it was not a great performance...but still better than I'll Go Crazy If I Don't sound like a weak Pop Outtake Tonight.

Well it must be a whole week since the last time you told us the songs we should vote for.

Speaking as a person who is totally incapable in individual preference, maybe it would be beneficial if you just put the 22 songs you want on the cd up again so that we may all vote the same way you did.

Because that's what Jesus would do.
  3. I hope the album stays as it is!

Look at it! No Line + Elevation made it in, meaning I am satisfied. Zooropa is there. All the classics (which really drove the show) were there.

I'm going to reiterate my opinions about the other songs people want in...

Electrical Storm - Good, but not great. The band wasn't satisfied enough to keep it for more than a couple shows, so why should we be?
40 - Nice spur of the moment performance, but it left much to be desired regarding quality. It lacked the sharpness and punch that it had during the Vertigo Tour.
Vertigo - I like it, but not nearly as much as it's previous Tour performance. It feels like they "tamed" it quite a bit, if anybody understands what I mean...
Hold Me - I was never a fan of the song during the tour. It felt so out of place, especially with WOWY following it. It was also nowhere near as good as Ultraviolet (which has got a stronghold in the top 22). It's best to let this one stay on those PopMart DVDs.

I'm a little sad that MOTD is way out of the top 22, but I can settle for the high quality recordings of it I have.

Let's see...my post above was on OCT 25...yeah about a week ago. Nearly every single post I have made since then was saying why we should not vote for I'll Go Crazy If This Song is on Another Release Tonight.

So you were only off by about 3 weeks. It is ok, my friend. I have just as much a right to rehash my posts as you do to point out your sadness that I continue to do so. I'm sure by putting my opinions on here more than once has ruined your U2start experience, my apologies.

I know there are some here who are annoyed by me, and that's fine. Bringing Jesus into it doesn't seem to make a bit of sense to me, but then again, there are those that want Crazy to be on a 5th release, as they just love the song, and that's fine too.

In my latest post above, I have stated what I thought was my final opinion here, they should just make it 3 discs, and fit all 46 tracks. You get the 2 discs of the voted tracks for a one year renewal, and you get the 3rd disc with a two year renewal.

I guess since the U2.com releases have been really poor lately, having some voice was better than no voice at all, but some people like me will complain, no matter what. For the most part, U2 fans complain at least 92 % less than Prince fans. Then again, Prince does whatever he can to alienate his own fans. U2 seem to care a little bit, but they are so rich, and such a big corporation, it is hard to imagine them being able to put themselves in the shoes of a common Joe fan anyway. That's why I keep making the Ca$h McCa$hess joke over and over again...

Still, I think U2 have given me a lot of what I wish Prince would have given me....and as my second favorite act, I am jealous a little bit...but I guess with Prince, I have around 400 songs on bootleg, and many songs sound totally different.

I totally agree with everything you've said there.

But i just wish the NLOTH tracks Breathe and Unknown Caller were in there. I think because they were played early in the tour and not in the later legs the fans have somewhat forgotten about them... But all in all i'm happy with the current 22

And as i write i have just checked the standings and in 22nd spot is NLOTH on 2.27% then a 3-way tie between I'll Go Crazy, Mysterious Ways and 40 on 2.24%
  6. i hope NLOTH stays as the 22nd song! im pretty much happy with those 22

    +1
  8. well according to the list of the song locations posted a while ago this is the version of bad we'll get and by golly i hope we do!!!

  9. Would that make the inclusion of All I Want Is You as another track a bit redundant?

I will admit that I really wished they band gave the new album another chance, especially with the energy of the later legs of the tour, but I will also admit that it was hard for me to get behind Breathe and Unknown Caller at times. I still listen to these two tunes because the album version sounded great, but the band never really got into performing it live (then again, the crowd never got into hearing it live...).

Regarding that 3-way tie, I wouldn't mind seeing Mysterious Ways move up, but I honestly think it was performed much better during the Elevation and Vertigo Tours. I'm not sure if the energy translated well with the huge stadium setup. Although, I did love the song when it was performed at the concert I attended.

My opinion about Crazy is that based on the reason they wanted the song there (to "disorient" the crowd before the political set), the band could have chosen a different song to serve that purpose (Love And Peace was the best song for the role). But regarding the song as a fun twist to the live act and a rare chance to see Larry up close on the outer circle, I say the song was a success. For that reason, it probably wouldn't work well on an album simply because 95% of the fun in that song was with the atmosphere and the crowd, things that can't be placed on record.

I've spoken about 40 far too many times to even want to repeat myself.
