Strong defensive line, attacking wingers, creative midfield duo, creative forward and an deadly (when in form) striker.

I'll do an all-time one later, but it will probably only be players I've grew up with. As good as some of the classic players were, I don't think technically they could be as prolific in modern football.

Regarding Messi, I don't see any place for him in my side. It'd be similar to international football, these set of 11 players are proven performers for their country so can easily slot in to alien team mates. Messi only performs when his team and the opposition allow him to, Argentina stifles him and he doesn't make the same impact consistently.
