1. Bump.

I've listened to half of it, pretty good so far. Will submit my review tomorrow.
  2. Me too
  3. will do review it tommorow
  4. I will do it during the weekend
  5. Performance
I always disagree with starting a show with Streets for some reason, but every time I hear it at the start of a Joshua Tree gig, it's so full of energy that it's hard not to approve. Tonight the band truly deliver with this song, some particularly nice vocals from Bono. The energy remains as the band move into a full blown I Will Follow. Excellent. Next up is a song that really encapsulates the whole Joshua Tree style, Trip Through Your Wires. In my opinion, it's a really good song. Definitely should only live on Joshua Tree shows though. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For is pretty much bang on, Exodus is always a welcome snippet. Bringing the pace back up, Gloria. Again, there's very little I can find wrong with the performance, it's just great. I don't agree with the placement of MLK in the set, maybe would've been suited more paired with I Still Haven't Found although it flows nicely into the bass of New Year's Day, so give it credit there. New Year's Day sounds a little empty here, but we have come to expect so much of the classic track.Don't think the bass is thumping enough. I'm a big fan of Sunday Bloody Sunday in this style, Bono is excellent with the vocals. Now, here is another epic Joshua Tree track - Exit. Excellent song, brilliant Gloria snippet at the end. Massive enjoyment. Straight into yet another quintessential Joshua Tree track, In God's Country. Although they're great tracks I'm really glad they stayed with that era. They wouldn't work today. Excellent performance. Fairly average performance of Bad if I must say, Help has almost dampened the show. It's by no means a bad rendition (no pun intended) but there are better. October? Yes, it's a good song but it really belongs back in the early years unless they can polish it up a little. This era really was the best for With Or Without You, vocals are really good. I'm not really feeling Pride, like Bad, there are better performances out there and in a little disjointed section of the gig I don't think it's working. But, all is not lost. Bullet The Blue Sky brings us right back to where we should be. Good solid performance. Immediately followed by the evergreen Running to Stand Still, always beautiful. And, as one last blast - Out Of Control, full of energy, great way to set the crowd up for the final song. And the crowd duly oblige in singing the refrain.

    Rating: 4-star

    Audience
Good. There when they're needed but in the recording they don't overshadow the band. As far as i'm aware, there were maybe a few moments when individual voices can be heard but nothing offputting. Great in the refrain for 40.

    Rating: 4-star

    Sound
Pretty damn good. Obviously it's no soundboard recording or crystal clear audience recording but it's not far off. Only issue is the start of Streets where it sounds a little muffled. Also another issue at the start of October but that might be the band's fault. Comes in a little loud.

    Rating: 4-star

    Overall
Overall it's a surprisingly good show. At first I was a little disappointed by the sound of the bootleg but once it cleared up it was a really enjoyable listen. Definitely worth listening to and maybe even worth revisiting.

    Highlights:
    - Streets
    - I Will Follow
    - Trip Through Your Wires
    - Sunday Bloody Sunday
    - Exit
    - With Or Without You
    - Running To Stand Still
    - Overall energy
    - Vocals

    Lowlights:
    - Show falls away a little in the middle
    - October just didn't cut it for me

Rating: 4-star (I did want to mark down for lacklustre middle section but the performance, sound and audience just won't let it happen, I'm all about the averages)

  8. Performance: 4 Stars
I thought all four sounded good, particularly Bono's voice. Adam's base sounded great during Streets and throughout the show. There was plenty of energy from all four guys.

    Sound: 3.5 Stars
This starts of poor, with Streets not sounding very good, but that muffled sound went away after a few minutes. There were still spots throughout the show where the sound was below average, but towards the end of the show, it started sounding good. I'm not sure if the sound actually improved or I just became used to the sound, but the second half was a very good sounding JT era audience bootleg

    Audience: 4 Stars
They were never distracting, and seemed to be energized by the band. When Bono let them sing, they sounded good.

    Overall: 4 Stars
This was a good show from Joshua Tree's third leg. They changed up the order a little bit, and while I appreciate that they did make a change, I'm not sure I liked it better. I always love the transition from October to New Year's Day. Out of Control, while not necessarily rare, was a nice addition to the encore. Other highlights for me include Streets, ISHF, Bad (though I wish there were snippets), WOWY, and "40."
  9. Performance - 4 stars

Good performance, especially in the middle of the set (Sunday Bloody Sunday through to Help) where they seemed to lift their game. However, there are better JT shows out there.

    Audience - 4 stars

Although the audience weren't a major part of the sound in the boot I thought they seemed to be enjoying the show.

    Sound - 3 stars

For me, quite a poor sound quality. Not sure if I was listening to a matrix version, but the sound seemed to change drastically in between a few songs. Also, I had to seriously adjust the EQ on my stereo to stop the complete BOOM BOOM from the bass!

    Over all - 3.5 stars

I enjoyed it, especially the change in the set in places, but the poor sound drags this boot down.

Highlights - SBS, I thought it was a great JT version. Help - I love what they did to Help on the JT tour, and this was a particularly good version. Also, a great encore!

    Lowlights - sound quality.
  10. Since I'm writing this on my iPod, it will be quite short (may expand it some time):

    Performance, 4 stars:

It's been too long since I listened to a JT show. This one has a quite nice performance, but not much feels stellar. Bono's voice is, well, JT-ish. Pretty nice and full but pretty bad on the high notes. He sounds like a frog during Pride's chorus. The best performance was Exit, it had a cool snippet and was generally awesome.

The band tried to change the setlist for this show... it didn't quite work but I give them creds for trying. I also felt a lack of snippets in a few songs.

    Audience, 4 stars:

I really like them, they manage to give a very nice atmosphere.

    Sound, 3,5 stars:

The sound is fully decent for a 24 years old recording. It is a bit muddy and overly bassy, but you hear everything. You unfortunately hear some crowd talking at times which is a bit annoying, but no biggie really. The taper seemed to get very excited by Bad.

    Overall, 4 stars:

It's a nice Joshua Tree show. Most songs are done very well, but at the same time lack that little bit of extra.

    Highlights:

    Exit
    Help (nice speech)
    Sunday Bloody Sunday
    Bullet The Blue Sky

    Lowlights:

    Pride
    Trip Through Your Wires
How wrong WoWY sounded after October
    The general lack of snippets

  11. Performance
It's a pretty lively performance. I generally find JT shows a little short and not always very logical as far as setlist is concerned, but two strong anchorpoints are always: starting with Streets (epic!) and starting the encore with Bullet. (this last one always brings back vivid memories of Rotterdam 1987, when the big spotlights slowly came tumbling down to accentuate Bullit as an encore. I will never forget that; it was so impressive!). Bono'svocals are good: those were the times when songs like NYD and SBS weren't worn out yet, but still vibrant and arrousing. (don't hit me!). I love the performance on this bootleg of Trip Through Your Wires, In Gods Country and Running to Stand Still. WOWY reduces me to tears once again.

    Rating: 4-star

    Audience
I love an enthousiastic audience, as long as they don't scream when they're not supposed to... In this recoring they are behaving well. If you listen carefully at the end of Pride, you can hear someone say: "ok, let's get outta here." maybe they tought tere wasn't going to be an encore? laughed a littlke at that.

    Rating: 4-star

    Sound
It's really good. At the start of the bootleg the intro of Streets has already begun, so that's a shame, and the first two minutes are really muffled. But after that it's rather clear. thumbs up!

    Rating: 4.5-star

    Overall
Overall it's really enjoyable. Not a great show, but a decent example of how the JT tour was, and a really good recording.

    Highlights:
    - Trip Through Your Wires
    - Exit
    - In God's Country
    - With Or Without You
    - Running To Stand Still
    - Bono's vocals

    Lowlights:
    - the start of Streets (soundwise)

    Rating: 4-star

  12. Just had chance to read through the reviews posted so far, again it's quite a similar opinion all round, a few points that we maybe disagree on but all in all...

I'm going to write up a summary a little later, to account for any late reviews. It's also great to see people remembering to post their review on the show page. This particular JT show had no reviews which isn't all that helpful to our members. Now though, there's four positive reviews which may help future members decide whether it's worth having or not.
