1. Hello,

I'm not quite sure where I should be posting this but I decided that this was probably the best place for it. Please let me know if I should post it elsewhere.

Some of you may already know about Cathal McCarron. He wrote and self published his U2-centric memoirs, 'Me & U2' in 2009.

He then visited every city on the tour on the day of the concert to hand a free copy to the first person in the queue.

For his final year with U2 360 I decided to give me a camera to capture his life on the road. The places he went and the people he met. After I received the hours of footage back I went about constructing a short documentary out of it all, including a lengthy interview I completed with him.

The film is currently being mixed and then will be ready in January to hit the festival circuit.

Here is the trailer for the film -

and also due to the high level of interest and 'likes' on the facebook page I uploaded a deleted scene as a way of a 'thank you' -

  2. Nice one, thanks for the trailer. I also got a book from him while queuing for the opening night Barcelona show back in 2009. Think Sergio still has it, don't you Sergio

Let us know then the video comes out
  3. Always time for Cathal stuff.
  4. "From the Sky Down," directed by Davis Guggenheim (yes, the same guy that did "It Might Get Loud") will open the Toronto International Film Festival.

It will focus on the making of "Achtung Baby!" I'm really looking forward to seeing this one. From the TIFF website:

"Twenty years after the release of U2’s Achtung Baby (1991), Davis Guggenheim (Waiting for Superman, An Inconvenient Truth, It Might Get Loud) charts this groundbreaking album with new interviews, stories and unseen footage from Berlin and Dublin. Now a key chapter in their career, Achtung Baby was in Bono’s words 'the sound of four men chopping down The Joshua Tree.'

'In the terrain of rock bands – implosion or explosion is seemingly inevitable. U2 has defied the gravitational pull towards destruction, this band has endured and thrived. The movie From The Sky Down asks the question why,' said Davis Guggenheim."
