Just wanted to share my new blog about how brilliant U2's music was between the years of 1980 and 2000. I am a particular fan of War, The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby, and here I discuss how I wish people wouldn't be so quick to judge U2 on their output over the last ten years and would take the time to become more acquainted with their amazing back catalogue. This isn't an attack on U2 as I am a huge fan, I just want to bring the brilliance of their older music to a new generation.
Would love it if, as real U2 fans, you could check it out:
This is very interesting and probably 95% right. Nevertheless, not all their post-98 work has been despicable, there are truly fantastic songs that can proudly stand up among their best ones (maybe including SBS, Running To Stand Still and The Fly). And I disagree on the passion issue too: I think that, except short spots of time in 2005 and 2009, they really enjoy what they do and they do it mostly very well.
