  1. Night 2 was the best show IMO but the setlist in NJ was the best out of the 3 shows. Seeing Brother and Alone was unbelievable. We will def be getting together when they come to the area
  2. True.N1 was amazing as well.If the Newark gig was at MSG,it would have had a different feel.Even though Newark, is only a few miles outside of Manhattan,its.....well.....it aint Manhattan... now is it !!!...LOL
  3. I just watched the first 15 minutes of PJ20 again, and I've just realised that it's very difficult to watch the start. Although Andy Wood was a decent singer, and very charismatic, he was irritatingly arrogant. You can tell he is the kind of guy that, if he survived well into the 90s, would've been hated by Cobain. It's good that Vedder isn't arrogant, and is everything what Andy Wood was too. I personally think Mother Love Bone were mediocre, and would've been completely drowned by Nirvana in the grunge movement. Listening to some of the stuff on their album, it sounds weak.
    It's also hard to watch because of his death. I mean, looking at Chris Cornell and Jeff Ament being so upset about it was just difficult to watch again. Once you get into PJ20, you start to really enjoy. I just cannot enjoy the Mother Love Bone bit though.
  4. I think it's essential to see that stuff because, even though I agree with you 100%, it adds to the chemistry of how Pearl Jam became what they are. One of those "everything that almost wasn't" stories that you get to watch unfold tragically in front of your face.

    To think, "Stone and Jeff were going to do THAT for the entirety of the 90s?!?! I dont THINK so!"

    It brings the "characters" of the story around.

Mother Love Bone had at least 2 great songs (Stardog Champion, Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns) and others quite common yes but keep in mind that most of the Ten material was written by Stone and Jeff and it seems they already reached their musical maturity (surely Mike and Eddie gave a big help of course). so who knows what it would be if Andy didn't die.
    Jeff and Stone would had never met Eddie most likely and maybe neither they joined Mike so no PJ .. and they probably wouldn't have succeeded creating this amazing combinations of musicists and men.

    no doubt about all the differences between Andy Wood and Eddie

    it will for sure .. it will something like 12 years that they don't go over there so they fill this "gap" in their way.
    if you're going to attend you'll finally see what is a real amazing live concert
  7. After a twelve-year absence, there's a good chance you're going to get as close to a "greatest hits" show that PJ would ever do - and that's a good thing, to me.

    Were you at the Turin, 2006 gig? If so, how did the crowd react to hearing Avocado in its entirity? I'm sure they left pleased, however, as it was preceded and followed by MEGA-hits.

    I agree.Wood was a bit,over the top.He was a character.I really didnt like his voice much myself.

    As for Cobain,he hated everyone.He was miserable,and thats why he offed himself.He hated Pearl Jam.He publicly mocked them many times.I think that his comments really upset Eddie Vedder.Nirvana were obvioulsly a very solid band.Nevermind, was of course a great release.In Utero was ok,Unplugged was very good.But,IMO,PJ were much better from 1991-1994.I enjoy Foo Fighters more than Nirvana as well.

    Cobain hated Pearl Jam's music, but he appreciated them because fans of Nirvana also liked Pearl Jam, so therefore he had "nothing against them". In PJ20, when it shows that interview with Cobain, he says he doesn't like Eddie Vedder or the band. He then says "I've talked to him a few times on the phone, and he seems nice", and then it shows a video clip of them two dancing and hugging at the 1992 VMA's. Yes, I agree, Nirvana were a solid band, and Nevermind was stellar. But Pearl Jam were better (and more popular), plus Ten was a more spectacular release.

    It's funny how people think that Nirvana were extremely popular in the early 90s, when Pearl Jam were actually the more popular band. Everyone has heard of Nirvana, but not everyone has heard of Pearl Jam. It's only because Cobain blew his brains out.

    i wouldn't say that .. Nirvana were extremely popular already in 1991 .. it's not Cobain suicide that made them popular .. Nevermind and Smell like teen spirit topped number 1 in US for example and sold a lot almost everywhere .. PJ popularity came a bit later.
    all the grunge movement became well known also thanks to Nirvana success.
