    I kinda agree, a bit knobbish alright, very overwrought rawk star. The album performance is more subtle.
  2. I don't understand what you guys are expecting to see. He's singing a song that probably has a lot of meaning for him and the band. Besides, it was acoustic...can't get much more subtle a performance than that.

    Love is Blindness for WOWY (just sometimes) or Moment of Surrender
    TTTYAATW for Stay (again, just once in awhile) or maybe even ISHFWILF
    Wild Horses for City of Blinding Lights or Pride, even
    Acrobat for ...oh heck, just play the song anywhere!!!!

    ...or maybe I should stop living in the past two times over.



    LOL.....I would say, play anything off AB, instead of Elevation.Im so fuckin sick of that tired played out song already.It would be my bathroom break song,no question,but I have Crazy Awful Remix for that.

    Edge could have easily played LIB during the show.Before or after Stay.Drop Stuck already.Bringing The Fly back was a brilliant move.I also agree with you on the Zoo Station point.But I would say,play it after Batman.Then followed with UV and end the gigs with WOWY or BAD.Not MOS.

So,let me get this straight.This version on Bluray(that is,of course, now being released separately,after we all bought AB mega ultra super deluxe box sets) of From The Sky Down,is different from the version I bought/have in the AB set ? Is this the full version, that I saw on Showtime ? LIB is cut from my AB version right ? SC wasnt on either the Showtime aired version or the AB version either right ?? Its on this version ??? Should I run out and buy this version now as well ?? LOL

    WTF ?!?! ...why are there so many versions of this film ? And where the hell is Acrobat !!....LOL

    Why not just release a deluxe DVD,with tons and tons of extras,as PJ did with PJ20 ????
  6. Don't agree with all of the calls to bring back half of Achtung Baby, all of Achtung Baby sorry (Acrobat excluded). Next tour, U2 will be promoting another album, not a 20+ year old album. Yes sometimes it would be nice to hear the odd Achtung Baby song thrown in, such as So Cruel, but I don't see how around half the setlist should be a Zoo TV set. I got the impression that it was only revived last year to coincide with the reissue and Glastonbury.

    I'd imagine that when a stadium sings along with Elevation etc, the band assume it's popular.

    I would rather hear AB songs than ATYCLB tunes in concert.You can argue,both albums are over 10 years old.So,whats he difference right ? Either way,its older material. AB is a masterpiece.They released a film about it,its so great.Most nights,in 2011,they played 4 songs off ATYCLB,and 3 off the "newer" Horizon.

    I agree, that Elevation goes over well live.IMO,it is not a signature classic song of U2.IWF,SBS,Pride,Bad,NYD,Streets,WOWY,ISHFWILF,AIWIY,One,MW and The Fly.Those tunes should be in the set each night.Bad was played only a couple of times.I attended 5 shows from 2009-2011,I got NYD twice,Bad zero times.But Elevation was played at all 5 of my gigs.

    I understand the band have to play more recent material.I agree with that.There are many great songs off ATYCLB and Bomb,besides the singles.My question is,do they have to play Walk On and Elevation at EVERY gig ? Id rather hear NYD and Bad any day over Elevation and Walk On.

    They could have played AB in its entirety (like Bruce does on occasion).That would have been fine with this fan.

    acoustic doesn't necessarily equal subtle, compare it with Edge's LIB performance. Now that was subtle as in understated and much better than B's So Cruel. I'm just making the point that the Bono histrionics can get in the way of the song sometimes.
