1. Have we done a "rate the albums" or "dream setlist" yet? Sorry too lazy to read through all the pages lol. I'll start

    Vs
    Ten
    Vitalogy
    Yield
No code , from here on out it could pretty much change at any time. Here's how I feel now
    Pearl Jam
    Backspacer
    Riot act
    Binaural

Don't get me wrong, I love Binaural but compared to the rest it falls a little short. It coulda been one of their best considering some of the songs they kept off. Sad is one my faves.

  2. Here's my dream set ( at the moment lol)

    Release.
    Last Exit.
    Go.
    Animal.
    In my tree
    Tremor Christ
    insignificance
    the fixer
    Nothingman
    sad
    Marker in the Sand
    Alone
    Immortality
    Dissident
    Faithful
    unthought known
    Red mosquito
    Given to Fly
    Betterman

    encore
    Ocean
    just Breathe
    Love n trust
    Breathe
    Leash
    Smile
    Evolution
    RVM

    Encore 2
    Footsteps
    Once
    Alive
    Baba
    Yellow
  3. And one more

    Long Road
    Hail hail
    Severed hand
    Brain of J
    Grievance
    amongst the waves
    corduroy
    Elderly woman
    no way
    U
    rats
    even Flow
    low light
    deep
    got some
    In hiding
    why go
    Porch

    Off he goes
    All those yesterdays
    Hold on
    Habit
    green disease
    Daughter
    Jeremy

    Hard to imagine
    you are
    Do the evolution
    Crown of thirns
    Alive
    Indifference

I love to read about peoples "dream sets". Plus hopefully it will get this thread goin! Lol. I hate Coldplay
  4. I'll do a rank the albums now and do a two-night, dream setlist(s) later. All albums are solid but I still have my favourites (no surprises at the top).

    1. Vs.
    2. Ten
    3. Vitalogy
    4. Yield
    5. No Code
    6. Riot Act
    7. Binaural
    8. Backspacer
    9. "Avocado"

I agree with your top 5! Lol. I know it's all opinion but what's with the hate for avocado? I know it's not just you. Just curious. I think it's a rocking album that McCready really shines on.
  6. having seen the words Pearl Jam and Coldplay in the same sentence gave me chills of horror

Couldn't have said it better myself. Haaaa
  8. Lol I agree but I feel it works better in reverse when it comes to a setlist. Opening the encore acoustic and finishing with the strongest of the three songs works well. I've seen all three songs in one show in Newark but never in a row.
  9. lets mix up the rank a bit

    Ten
    Vitalogy
    Vs
    Yield
    Riot Act
    Backspacer
    No Code
    Binaural
    Avocado

the speech about Avocado could be the same you do for Binaural .. some very good songs (Life wasted, World wide suicide, Inside job and so on), but the all set of songs is weak compared to their catalogue .. my opinion of course

Cool. I totally understand. Just cuz it's ranked last doesn't mean it's a bad album.

Well, as you said with "Binaural" I don't hate Avocado but I don't think it's as good as any of the others. I'll try to explain my reasoning, however, for putting it last - an on-the-spot explanation, mind you:

I felt they were trying to write/perform more "mature" rock and roll music and it made them seem a bit dated. Eddie sounds great and they play well but what made Pearl Jam who they were just wasn't there. "Come Back" is a bit too "1950's" for my liking and the heavier songs like "Comatose," "Big Wave," and "Unemployable" just sound like weaker versions of some of their 1990's stuff. I even think "WWS" was there weakest lead single, aside from maybe "Who You Are." I do think "Life Wasted-Reprise" and "Severed Hand" are great tunes and there are parts of "Marker in the Sand," "Inside Job," and "Gone" that I like. I guess in the end, when I have eight other albums to choose from (plus hundreds of concerts), "Avocado" just doesn't seem like a worthwhile option.

It's all a matter of opinion, of course, and I still love the 2006 tour.
