1. Hi,
I recently bought the Joshua Tree 5 x 7" Promo Sampler Collection in great condition.
(white labels with promo on it)

Just wondering how rare this is:
Sampler record no.4 is misprinted, it misses the B-side label, so it looks completely black.
i cannot find any information about this, and hope someone can tell me if more mispressed copies are known, where a label is missing completely?

    How rare is this?

  2. Released to promote the release of The Joshua Tree, this boxed set contained five 7" singles. Each track from the Joshua Tree except for With or Without You was represented on these samplers. Each 7" came in a picture sleeve which were identical except for the item number which match the catalog numbers listed above.

Two versions of this set were released, one had plain white labels, with just plain text, and the Island Records logo at the bottom of the label. The other release featured a large grey "A" on the label behind the text. A very rare mispressing left Where the Streets Have No Name off of the first single, and instead Red Hill Mining Town was pressed on both sides.

The five singles were also released separately.

  3. It is interesting , but i dont know how rare is ....
  4. I have got this box aswell..
Pretty weird you got sampler no. 4 mispressed, never heard of that to be honest!
Normally it's sampler no. 1 that is spelled with Red Hill Mining Town on both sides so I am not really sure about this.
This box appeared in a record collector issue and it's number 8 of the 60 most collectable items of U2.
The value of it is around the 700 pounds and with the sampler no. 1 mispressed 1800 pounds.
This is just a sort of statement, but I have seen those boxes got sold for other prices or even more than 1800 pounds.
The value depends on what a buyer thinks it is worth.
