So it seems I missed out on a big Pearl Jam discussion today. A few more weeks like this and this will pass the Coldplay topic.

I just want to say I agree with someone who posted about Vitology a few pages back. This might be the album of any artists that I am most split on. It has some of my all time favorite PJ songs, like Corduroy, Better Man, Immortality, and Nothingman, and yet it also has some of my least favore songs in thier catalog. I really don't know if I can listen to Stupidmop again.

I don't think any of us think you need to listen to that song or "Bugs" for that matter. I never listen to them either.

I think the 10 "normal" songs on the album are all solid, with "Satan's Bed" being the weakest of them. I'd go something like:

1. Corduroy
2. Better Man
3. Not for You
4. Immortality
5. Last Exit
6. Spin the Black Circle
7. Nothingman
8. Whipping
9. Tremor Christ
10. Satan's Bed

One of the interesting things about Vitalogy that I am still reminded of everytime I looks through my CD's is how original the sleeve was when the album first came out. Up until then, all my CD's were in jewel cases and Vitalogy was not. They probably weren't the first artists to do this but they were the first ones that had CD's in my collection. If only they could have rotated the orientation of the sleeve by 90 degrees. It is too tall but not deep enough to be in-line with the rest of my discs. Boo hoo for me.

After closer inspection, the Atlanta gig is indeed chalk full of goodness. 10 songs from Ten, 11 songs from Vs, and many more...

Up until today really, I have been focusing on the official bootlegs started in 2000 and have been somewhat ignoring the previous decade. So, what are the (let's keep it under) ten essential 1990's shows to have? I now have:

Moore Theatre, Seattle 1992
Fox Theatre, Atlanta 1994
Orpheum, Boston 1994
Soldier Field, Chicago 1995
Berlin, 1996
Melbourne, 1998
Seattle, 1998

Am I missing anything astounding?

Very true. Like I said in an earlier post leave all the filler out and add the outtake "hard to imagine" at the end and you have a near masterpiece containing 11 songs.
