1. Well, I think Ten is an amazing album. Especially the opening of it. Once is one of the most energetic songs I ever heard. It's simply amazing. Still remember the first time I put Ten on, the first time I heard the song. During the intro I thought... "WTF is wrong with this??". I turned up the sound to hear anything, and the song just explodes in my face. Awesome. So much energy.
  2. Black, Jeremy, Even Flow, Alive are all better songs than Once.

Thanks for suggesting those shows, Ed! I'll be downloading some of them tonight.

You're probably right. As great as Once is, there are a bunch of better ones on the album. I'd even put Porch and Release (at least the live versions of them but maybe that doesn't count here) ahead of Once.

I will conclude by reiterating that Once is a great song.

I prefer Once to Porch, but I'd maybe put Release and possibly Garden ahead of Once. I do agree though, Once is a great song.

Go was the better album opener though.
  5. I just love Once for it's amazing energy. I still haven't dug that "deep" into Ten, so my opinion of which song is the greatest will probably change. But Once is just so amazing.
  6. You'll love Go then. The energy in that song is simply insane.
  7. OK.I know earlier today,I casually mentioned, the SLC gig, from 11.01.95.I went into my PJ bootleg vault, and broke this one out.The sound is fantastic. Its either a great soundboard,or an FM broadcast.I think its a soundboard,as you cant hear any of the fans.Either way, this is a MUST listen.Do not play this, next to the recent sounding live releases,as its not as loud. And remember ,this isnt a release. This gig, sounds as good as the famous Berlin gig, from 1996.

My version is from many, many, many, years ago.Its actually on a silver cd,with nothing on it but the date.Strange,I know.I think I picked this one up in the Village, back in the day.We Got Shit (PJ bootleg site),has a great version.

This show was a makeup gig.The original date was cancelled, back in June of 95,because of a massive storm.

The show opens, with a crazy sounding intro playing over the PA.Its some kind of tribal chanting.Sounds wild. The band then come on, and kick it with with an intense version of Go.Jack Irons rips it here.Animal,Last Exit,Spin The Black Circle,Tremor Christ,Corduroy,Not For You,then a ferocious version of Lukin is banged out.I can feel the extreme, violent energy from those amazing songs.Ed must have been going wild.He sure sounds it.

What makes this show so special,IMO,is not just the sound, and the bands solid performance. There are a few mistakes,(Better Man),its the FEEL.

.I Got Shit is performed for the 10th time, and sounds great.Plus, the band play an amazing 8 min version of Blood, that ends the main set.The live debut of Red Mosquito IS PLAYED.And sounds great.Lukin is followed by a slow, interesting unknown song, listed as Improv.

Many of the classics are played here, including all the "real" songs off Vitalogy, except Nothingman.

    Grab this.
  8. I'm on it .

I still haven't finished the 2011 Canadian gigs yet!!!!!...and the South/Central American shows will get released soon...and then there's those 2010 gigs you directed me to...and now I'm going back to the 90's....Oh, how I wish I just listened to them consistently since 2000 and I wouldn't have this "problem."

  9. No worries there. With the audio program I use, I can easily increase the volume of all the tracks and also monitor it enough so that I don't "clip" the tracks. I recently did this with a London 2000 mix (I can upload that in the near future if there's interest) since, as you made me aware, the European bootllegs from 2000 are quieter than those from North America.

Can't help but notice that "Once" wasn't played in any of these 1995 gigs we've been mentioning.

    Huh.

[EDIT] Upon further research/inspection is was played just four times in 1995.
  11. I hope they'll play it in Globen (the venue of the legendary ZooTV Stockholm show) and that I'll be there
  12. Been listening to the 1995 gigs today (I am at home from work with my mildly ill one-year old son so I can do this while he naps) and think they are all great but wonder if I got the best San Diego gig out there. Anyway, from what I can tell the 1995 Melbourne gig is indeed a must have. Sounds absolutely phenominal. Great companion to the 1998 (March 5th) show. The Soldier Field show from Chicago and the Salt Lake City shows both sound great but very different. I believe you mentioned the SLC show is a soundboard recording, Ed, while the Chicago one is a radio broadcast.

    Get these for sure.
