Yes, it is. Most bands have a few great B-sides and then loads of crappy unfinished songs... Coldplay is the only other band I know, besides U2, in which you can say that almost all their b-sides and unreleased songs are of a great quality and could be easily included on any of the albums. Gravity is one of them.

    Coldplay - Lhuna

I hadn't heard this song before. It features Kylie Minogue and it's definitely one of the musically weirdest songs I've heard from CP.

  4. What a coincident.

I discovered their B-Sides the other day. It's like having a complete new album. My favourite song is Things I Don't Understand, which is I think on the Speed of Sound single.
  5. definitely, coldplaying's a great fansite, i've been downloading quite a lot from there recently.

i've been meaning to make a coldplay b sides compilation playlist - like you say, there's a good album's worth of great tracks there - i'll post it when i'm done.

Where Is She? - The Killers

EDIT: this makes a cracking album:

    Things I Don't Understand
    Animals
    Easy To Please
    Bigger Stronger
    Proof
    Crest Of Waves
    Moving To Mars
No More Keeping My Feet On The Ground
    Such A Rush
    Gravity
    Death Will Never Conquer

What about Pearl Jam or Oasis or Arctic Monkeys? Those bands have some great b-sides.

I don't know much about PJ, but from what I can tell, Arctic Monkeys don't have a load of great b-sides (they don't have that many singles either; and many of their b-sides are really lame, like Bad Woman, I Haven't Got My Strange or Fright Lined Dining Room), and Oasis' ones are pretty unconsistent (Acquiesce and The Masterplan might be fucking mindblowing, but songs like Eyeball Tickler or Full On lower the average pretty much). The vast majority of CP bsides are very good songs that could easily belong to the albums, I think.

Ah right, I see what you mean. Arctic Monkeys do have Leave Before The Lights Come On, which is fucking fantastic, and also, I thought Evil Twin was pretty good. But you're right, they do have some crap b-sides. Really? I thought most of Oasis' b-sides are great. The whole of 'The Masterplan' album, which is dedicated to complete b-sides, is really good considering how it is a b-side album. I do agree with you saying that Coldplay's b-sides are stellar. Not many bands have the skill of creating so many great songs that some have to become b-sides.
