1. That's when I got into them. Personally, I'd say Dookie then American Idiot. Not too into the whole concept album idea anymore. They need to change their style and just go for straight post-punk again, like Dookie, in my opinion.
  2. they won rock album of the year with 21st Century Breakdown, as far as I remember.
  3. Yeah, they did. But it was less successful than American Idiot because it didn't have a great hit single. Know Your Enemy done badly in the charts, whereas American Idiot got number 1 in most countries. Also, 21st Century Breakdown was nowhere near as good as American Idiot, but still pretty good. Had some great tracks on it.
  4. 21 guns my favorite, so powerful

  5. Pearl Jam are lightyears better than Green Day. Green Day are nothing special, just decent. (Kieran will get mad at me now.)
  6. 21st Century Breakdown was pure and utter conceited bullshit. Not one single inspired song on the entire record.

They did amazing with Idiot, really wrote their hearts out and it came through in the music- the story was well told and the music was as punk as pop could get at the time...really just perfect. Then they were like "HOLY SHIT WE'RE SO GOOD AT THIS LETS DO IT AGAIN", and it went...

"onnnnne. twenty one gunnnnnnnns. blah blah blah blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

I just felt that wave of excitement when you remember that you have tickets for an epic concert. Pearl Jam.
  8. I find it funny how you've only listened to less than a quarter of each band's catalogue and yet you are still judging that

if only my English was a bit better I'd judge and argue on everything, but yup, just don't know how to translate my thoughts

    oh that was about Olof

Yup, and I said that they should stop with the concept stuff, and do another Dookie. I just want a post-punk album made in 7 days and released 2 months later and it will still be fucking amazing.

Apparently they've made most of the songs for the new album and have done these little special club shows that have debuted these new songs. I have no idea if it will be a concept album.
  11. I've read about the club shows and I'm pretty sure it won't be a concept album. They just aren't the kids they were when they wrote Dookie so I can't really see them breaking that radio pop punk feel anymore. Their side project, Foxboro Hot Tubs, which I think was after AI- that wasn't terrible.

    BINGO!
