Given To Fly is amazing as well, but I still can't find the 'utter greatness' of Black. Maybe 10 more listens and I'll be there

You cant find the greatness of Black

  2. Black,IMO,is classic.....live its EPIC.....I have always loved that tune,since I first heard it in 91....

We've discussed this before (but not in 2012) but the record company desparately wanted to release "Black" as a single but PJ declined - they didn't want the song ruined by overplay, etc. I think this adds to the songs allure.

I wonder if the band regrets making the "Jeremy" video. Although it is widely regarded as one of the greatest promos of all-time, I have a feeling they wouldn't do it again if they got the chance. Their position seemed a bit unclear in the PJ20 movie.

Eddie's got the wail that Daltrey had...classic. He also does a great job with Pete Townsend's songs, too. His "Let My Love Open the Door" in Chicago 1995 is a prime example.
  6. What are your thoughts on the Benroyal Hall release?

    I haven't listened to it.

When im in the mood for pjs softer side, there's not a better listen IMO. Great collection, great performNce and one of the best sounding CDs I own. The recording catches such an ambience and makes you feel like you're there.
  8. B.Hall is great. Its perfect for the AM.The acoustic show from Mansfield and this show go nicely together.
  9. i find the Benaroya simply a little jewel .. a great acoustic set .. it makes a very good atmosphere yes.
good thing is also that the proceeds go to charity .. not sure if it's still so
stealing the words to Ed ... a must have! hehe
  10. So, I guess I should go out and get it.
  11. Yes Matt...grab this...Ronnie already quoted me..LOL
  12. Whoa. This thread is getting too low again.

Listening to Newark, Boston, and Hartford 2010 over the past few days. Great shows...lots of hits sprinkled with some great b-sides.

My only complaint: I don't I like listening to "Got Some" and maybe even "The Fixer" as much as I have.
