1. Relaxing. Storage Wars catch up, maybe a film later. Didn't get much sleep last night so I'm hoping to slow down to a stand still
  2. Gotta love these relaxing nights, everybody. They're a blast, really.
  3. Originally posted by EyesWithPrideB3Currently laying in bed waiting for dinner to be ready, then probably with the girlfriend to lounge around. Take it easy tonight. Going to spend the day in the city tomorrow and top if off with a show at Chicago's "House of Blues" club venue

    What show is it?
  4. Trippin' Billies, the nations' highest regarded Dave Matthews tribute band. My cousin (who owns his own sound production company and is currently touring with All Time Low) used to be Trippin's touring manager and sound engineer for their live shows, and is in town this weekend- so he's doing a one-off mix for them tomorrow night. Last year we saw the show, he guest-listed us and we met the band- I'll have to call him up tomorrow and see if he can throw us on there or not.
  5. That's cool! All Time Low are touring the UK next week I believe. Will he be touring with them there too?
  6. Yep, he leaves for the UK on Sunday to hit that leg with them. Been all over the world already, I think they're going for round two now.
  7. Wow, that's amazing. They had to do two nights in Glasgow because of high demand for tickets. They are really starting to get popular but they aren't my cup of tea - they are a bit whiney.

That's a really cool job though, something I'd love to do.
  8. Yeah he has a great time with it though he's frequently exhausted and never really knows what city/country he's in because he only ever really is around the venue, and they all look the same haha.
  9. Haha, especially when a lot of the concert venues in the UK are called 'O2 Academy', that's bound to confuse you.
  10. Oh my god I know..I look at tour schedules and I'm just like...why are they playing the same venue...in 4 different countries? Hahaha...what's the story with that anyway? I mean here in the US its always some crap like "Pepsi Arena" or "First National Bank Center"....stupid crap like that. Is O2 something corporate?

Here in Chicago we're lucky, because Soldier Field is technically a memorial to the fallen soldiers that are from Chicago, so its name can't be changed. And the United Center, another place U2 frequents and my own personal favorite venue, is technically corporate-ized by United Airlines, but "United Center" just sounds so natural and flows off the tongue that you'd never think twice about it. I barely even remember most of the time.
  11. Basically, O2 bought all these venues and renamed them 'O2 Academy'. They are in cities like Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham, Oxford, Bournemouth etc. We don't have a O2 venue in Edinbugh, but like I said, there is one in Glasgow. We have an HMV Picture House, a venue which I've been to several times - that venue was bought over by HMV, which is a huge music store company in the UK. There's only a few venues left that are really independent and not owned by some massive company.

Edinburgh doesn't have many great venues unfortunately. We don't have an arena like you would have United Center. If there is a band like Arctic Monkeys or Arcade Fire playing, they will usually play Scottish Exhibition Conference Centre (SECC) which is in Glasgow and is a venue that U2 have played in 5 times. That venue is an arena, I saw MCR and Arctic Monkeys there. Very fucking warm in there, I almost fainted at MCR. It's a shame that we usually have to travel such a while to see a concert. We do have the largest stadium in Scotland (Murrayfield Stadium) which is sometimes used for concerts. But the largest venue after that is Corn Exchange which holds about 3,500 people maybe? I saw You Me At Six there almost exactly a year ago, and that was the last time I was ever at the venue for a concert.
  12. I remember when you went to YM@6, you had the whole alternate night ticket fiasco!
