1. The King with yet another shutout last night for my beloved Rangers.....
  2. Is Mark Messier an Oiler or a Ranger?

What did he go into the HoF as - I forget?
  3. Messier retired as a Ranger.

And here's your Ray Bourque pic:

Ah, well played. We got the bookends of your 2006 gold, however.

  5. Since he won five of his six Stanley Cups as an Oiler, hes an Oiler. He is one of the only players to Captain 2 different teams to a Cup.He delivered here,in NYC.We love him here.He was a great Ranger, but he did leave us, for Vancouver in 97, for more money.

Then he came back to the Rangers in 2000 and retired a couple yrs later.

He still lives here, and has since been hired by the Rangers, as a special assistant to the team president.
  6. The thing I appreciate most about Mess is that he was able to win (twice) without Gretzky. I love The Great One but he can't say the same, can he?
  7. No he can't..he came close in 93...but Marty McSorley took that bad penalty...and that was it...
  8. I love how this topic is called "Ice Hockey." Are there a lot of field hockey fans on this forum?

(I may eat my words here for being so presumptuous.)

Leaf fans (not me) argue that he shouldn't have been in that final in the first place.

I assume canadians also just call it "hockey", like we do.... What the hell is field hockey? (I'll probably eat my words too)
  11. Bigger playing area... played on (you guessed it) a field...sticks are shorter (as are the blades of the sticks)...popular, I believe, in India and New Zealand.
  12. Yeah, I know

Hockey is ice hockey, that's the end of it.
