I think I'd actually play one quite a bit... since I'm so damn lazy when I want to play. I almost always play the acoustic guitar... and an ukulele should be even better in the "get something to play on as quickly as possible"-aspect.

    very nice pic
thank you Sergio .. for the quote too
  3. It was posted on the PJ20 facebook page, not my merit

I would like an uke as well, it's just so COOL to play, specially if you have a friend backing you up with a guitar and/or a harmonica.
  4. i guess ukulele had an increase in sales in the last year thanks to him hehe
  5. I would bet on that, too. Him and all the Jason Mraz-alikes of recent times. In the last 2 years or so everyone has got an ukelele

I guess I will buy one sometime soon, although mandolines strongly call my name too.
  6. Speaking of the Ukelele,Im kinda surprised EV is touring solo in April and May,once again. The Ukelele album came out last spring, and he (as we all know) already went out on tour last spring.Albeit, yes a short tour, nontheless,he toured already.I saw him at the Beacon in NYC,N2,and the show was great. My question is,whats the point ?

I would rather the BAND spend more time in the sudio, and when they do go on tour, solo or full band, do a full proper tour. Not 2 weeks here, and then 2 weeks there. The 4 weeks EV is goin out this spring,he could have easily done last spring,WHEN HE WAS ALREADY ON TOUR PROMOTING THE UKELELE CD.Maybe its just me.......

But,even a short 4-5 week tour, takes up at least 2 months between preperation for the tour and whathaveyou.I do think its great, that the band do their own thing (Soundgarden, solo stuff like Brad).I think it would just make more sense if they would spen a year apart, tour, release solo material etc...Then get back with the band, hit the studio and then go on a proper tour....

Oh well....Im just itching for some new material....
  7. They're due for an album this year - 2000, 2003 (well, late-2002), 2006, 2009, 2012...

I guess the band might not see it this way. I guess they'll just have to have more "vault" releases.
  8. I don't know why they wouldn't release one in the last quarter, sounds like they're getting there. Could be early 2013 though.
  9. So I just downloaded a bunch of Apri/early-May 2003 boots from pearljambootlegs.org. They include:
    Albany
    State College
    Buffalo
    Uniondale
    St. Louis
    Champaign
    Raleigh
    Atlanta
    Philly

Did I miss any "MUST HAVES?"

From now on, EDDMB's "MUST HAVE's" will be know as "Ed-Man" concerts. Not that I am calling you a simian, of course.

  10. You may be right. I thought I heard they were working one some new material. I wonder if they'll be going in any sort of new direction - not Radiohead new direction - but something more folsky, punk-driven, etc.

Not only working on, but recording etc.
  12. Also if that State College bootleg is the one I think it is, its pretty much the end-all-be-all of PJ shows. It was the first one ever given to me, deemed one of the best EVER.
